It wasn't until 2013 that Armstrong finally admitted he did use performance enhancing drugs and promised TV presenter Oprah that he would apologise to David.
So has it happened yet? Witness History caught up with David Walsh to find out.

As a former rider in the peloton, David Walsh is and has been a hero. There were a lot of Continental and Pro Continental riders who knew that we would never ride in the Pro Tour because we didn't dope.

Terrible men this Armstrong: Lance Armstrong is probably the worst sport cheater of the universe, typically someone living for his own benefits

What people tend to over look is that he did a LOT of good: 1. Up bike sales in the USA due to the years of Tour De France 2. Raising $$$ millions in cancer

Do bears shit in the woods? We all saw him in 99 and knew he was doping. David Walsh just wrote in a paper what we all knew. Look at what Paul Sherwin and Phil Ligett were saying in their commentary at the time. It was all nudge / wink.

Prior to the TDF, Lance was a pretty good time trialist, so I would dispute that claim from David Walsh. His climb was like Remco Evenpoel's, he did good enough because he had the power.

Lance Armstrong self-confessed. Any journo claiming otherwise is just trying to make themselves appear more important than who they really are

I listened up to 2.09. Cycling, is healthy in some ways. Unhealthy, in other ways. Cycling to work, might be great, for income. However, wearing tight pants, might not be that healthy. There's pressure, to keep up, with motor cars, which is obviously impossible. My Dr. Thought that, riding a Bicycle Moto Cross bike, was a dangerous sport, with a high risk of injury. Certainly, bicycles, do fail mechanically. With, the free wheeling mechanism, wearing out sometimes. Bicycles are a relatively new invention. But, folks have been trying to, ride horses for hundreds of years. The issues around, riding are well established through horses. With riding injuries, as also Submariners, might suffer from Diver's diseases. The modern cavalry regiment. Perhaps, ride around in automobiles. Ride bicycles, or horses. Performance, enhancing drugs, are exciting and interesting. Their legal status, might be different, in different parts of The World. Controlled substances law, in the UK is quite, complex and confusing, with all the various. Amendments. Wikipedia, has a reasonable summary of the issues around controlled substances. With steroids, being maybe a Class C. Substance, with heavy penalties for distribution, but light sentences for, possession. I imagine there's loads, of performance enhancing products, used by elite athletes. The poor man, has suffered cancer. But, well. There are financial rewards in sports some times. Certainly, if a person, can ride to work. There's going to be money involved. Where, riding a bicycle. Might, be a great way to get to work. Not, all workers, are male either. So, riding, is an interesting skill. Where in some disciplines. It might be beneficial to be short, and light! Perhaps, even female! I was doing some driving, and, yes! Some use of caffeine. I found, beneficial. Sure, it's not such, a big scandal really. Perhaps, laws on substances should be relaxed to take, the pressure off Doctors, to be writing prescriptions. If, folks, are seeing an improved performance. From ingesting these foods, it's surely not, such a bad thing. Taking caffeine is legal, and could save lives. If, cyclists can keep up with traffic better, when using performance enhancing drugs, that's hopefully going to contribute to a safer commute. Interesting story.
