BEGAFILM - HISTORY IN MOTION

2 жыл бұрын

In this captivating documentary, accountant Ludwig Seiwald offers a rare glimpse into the construction period within the secretive "Fuehrer Area" of the Obersalzberg during the years 1936/37.
Seiwald, in his first and only interview ever granted, vividly recounts his experiences amidst the towering projects of Bormann's model farm, the renowned "Gutshof," and the iconic "Eagles Nest."
What makes this interview truly exceptional is its complement by Seiwald's meticulously kept diary, offering a comprehensive and enthralling narrative.
Seiwald's unique perspective spans from the pivotal pre-war years to the tumultuous post-war era on Obersalzberg, with his frontline experiences during the war eloquently depicted in his diary, providing a nuanced and insightful portrayal of the most significant epochs of his life.

An engineer's handwriting. Neat, crisp, precise. My Dad was one, and this man's diary, looks like his letters to me when I was away at camp or school, as a child. Brings back fond memories.

Fantastic to hear a first hand account of someone that was involved in the construction process of the Obersalzberg and to hear his experiences of this time in history and especially the unknown incident of someone asking Hitler for ID.

These interviews are simply Fascinating! It’s so hard to get through the politics and war propaganda to the realities and stories of the people during that time. Unfortunately there are very few still alive…. Hopefully there is an archive somewhere of interviews such as what is featured in this channel…..

In regard to the commercial near the start of the show I regard commercials on line as a nessisary pain in the butt. Without them no one is going to put videos online for free. I'm very thankful that there are ads along with the videos I watch. So much for that. This is a very fascinating look at things I've always wondered about.

Fascinating! It's incredible listening to this having all the context of the explorations you did. I think the shooting range is still my favorite, I learnt to shoot in a underground Armory range with the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets.

Love the real story. Danke. Too bad so much that was built was eventually destroyed. As a side note, Hitler's plan and action to conquer Europe was a massive mistake. One cannot truly conquer land without also being able to keep it.

If I am not mistaken, I think all the nations he invaded were a direct threat to Germany, either directly like France or indirectly as a possible landing site like in the Netherlands or Belgium, his goal was to create a powerful European Economic Union with Germany as the leader or guide rather, free from the clutches of international finance, strong independent nations. I think his mistake was to retain power when it was probably not the best thing to do for Germany anymore.

@@rosesandsongs21 he never wanted to go to war with Britain. He wanted to expand to the east and rule over Germany and it's new territories and Britain could do the same with their territories. Britain didn't want any other country to create an empire for themselves.

Maybe Hitler should have built vacation hotels rather than trying his hand at destroying governments? He seemed to really get engrossed in maps and in design. He has the reputation of being a good communicator, and he had solid painting skills. Seems like politics got him off track from his true calling. It's a shame.

So cold, dispassionate and totally aware, at the time, of all the atrocitie. Not his paygrade to be emotional about employees, they were there to get a job done. That horse manure about happy, beer drinking guys, worn out after a day's work. They were damned slaves and that pompous bastard thought everyone dumb enough to buy his crap. What crust.
