The first technique I have seen being referred to as "Stealing" a bowline, if anyone is interested in looking up more about it.

Love the vids dude. Hey so I had a question that perhaps you might be able to address. Can a self minding prusik be used with a regular ATC to belay from the top if you don’t have a “guide” style device? My friend and I want to try out multipitch. I have 2 ATC’s but neither are guides lol We both have GriGri +’s but I was thinking about and curious if you’ve ever known of people using a prusik with the standard ATC in place of an ATC guide. Maybe you could make a video on it? Maybe you could address some different ways of belaying from the top?

Good video idea. I’d just use a Grigri tbh lol to technical to lower back down if you have too.

@@BetaClimbers ya for sure but perhaps the grigri’s (both of them) slip out of our hands and go bye bye and all we got left is the regular ol’ tubes and some prusiks. A storms rolling in and it’s faster to bail up finishing the climb rather than bailing down rappelling all the way to the bottom. Haha

@@XVIIsionsProductions if you drop the grigri belay with a Munter. You could belay with your line going from your atc (harnessed )back up through the anchor but that’s more weight on the anchor and movement of you if they fall.

"taut-line hitch" should have 4 wraps but idk if the diameter would effect its grab. still-absolutely great technique

That's a sweet trick, but a properly tied tautline hitch should hold plenty good on soft nylon ropes, and would indeed become an adjustable loop. And then you could even climb on that. Those lockers look like they have rated gates. For the weight of two of those, use a smaller steel locker with a rated gated. Less clunky.

Hey im trying to design a new climbing helmet which has a powerful but lightweight torch intergrated into it for an easier time climbing at night, do you have any tips or any suggestions. I have been climbing at night and I have knocked my headtorch around so i thought this might be a great idea.

Sounds like a old miners helmet lol. Maybe that’s something you can have 3D printed to hold the head lamps in place. I would try to reinvent a helmet or a lamp. They already have great designs but maybe make somthing to better attach the head lamps that are already on the market.

You're "stealing" a bowline. Not new but a very cool thing nonetheless. Also look up bowline under tention.

The new thing was the last hitch bowline in the vid, but yeah stealing the bowline is a cool trick. I can’t get it to work under a lot of tension though…
