theres probably like 0.001% of cases where squatters rights could actually help a family or something in need but its just abused to hell, similar to how BC basically fully decriminalized drugs and its been abused and drug addicts were shooting up pretty much anywhere they wanted and just recently they've started allowing police to start doing something about it again

a real estate development company that has the cash backing and legal network to expedite the eviction process. when things like this break it hurts us (the average citizen) more than once. for example, the guy in the video who worked his way up to that property (only his 2nd) through 18 years of hard work is being hurt because he now can’t work on the property and work towards further wealth accumulation. he is then hurt again because while he is losing this time, his greatest competition, the massive tycoons and investing firms, are reaping the benefits of low retail competition as well as potentially targeting properties like this in the event a retail investor is unable to maintain their ownership of the property (i.e. hey we could offer you CASH right NOW, doesn’t that sound nice? gimme gimme)

In my country it's very similiar. The renting laws are really bad here and you can basically stop paying rent and the owner can do literally nothing, cops can't do anything because the law literally protects the illegal squatters, so all you can do is sue the trespasser which costs a lot of money and if you're lucky it will take only a year, usually it takes around 5 years. And that's one of the main reasons why people don't want to rent out properties in my country, there's just too much risk. Also I have a pretty crazy story from my friend that rented out property and this happened to them, a guy stopped paying rent for 5 months straight, what my friend did instead of calling the police (which they tried already and was useless) was that they called a friend of a friend that had contacts in a local mafia ring, my friend basically paid a 6'5" tall mafia muscle gorilla to break down the door of the property and "sort things out" with the squatter, the squatter moved out the next day. Maybe in America they should do the same, pay some gang to raid the house and kick the squatter out. If police won't do their job the citizens have to.

At that point id go with the homies at night and just overpower the lot then dump everything that was inside, including the squatters, somewhere else while a few stay at the building to change all the locks. Not wrong, red states have squatters rights laws as well but you’d have to maintain the property and live on it for many years to claim it. The US doesn't have anti squatting agencies? In my country you can live in "antikraak" which means you live in a property that's either for sale or abandoned or about to be demolished ie. an office building for maybe 2-300 a month + utilities with the caveat that if the property is sold you have to get out within 2-3 months. It's very popular. You have to contact an agency who usually manages anti-squatting property to make sure actual squatters don't abuse it. It's surprising that's not a thing in the US. I knew a guy that has lived in an abandoned furniture warehouse for years now, since the county isn't doing anything with it but doesn't want to leave it out for squatters either.
@LAKXx
@LAKXx 2 ай бұрын
That's what i currently do in NL, note that its generally more like 5-600 a month nowadays due to its popularity. Still i have no idea what to do when that time to move comes since i have been on the waiting list for social housing for years and years and still am at #560 or so and getting moved back occasionally due to others getting preferential treatment, probably because they have kids which is understandable but still its so stressful knowing that every day can be my last before becoming homeless and likely losing my job while at it due to having no housing rights to fall upon whatsoever. Id gladly pay 300 per month more for the comfort of knowing id have a place to live and be able to show up for work

He's funny, always chill with people who are chill with him, and actually goes to insane places first hand to give the viewers a look into something they'd NEVER see otherwise. Yet, people still call him a "content demon". What does that even mean? Someone who wants to make good videos? Blows my mind.

He was originally a mrbeast clone, who then transitioned to the kind of content he does now. He has had controversial videos even recently, with the whitakers/softwhiteunderbelly, and also with his video on Las Vegas. Also, the wider yt community does not like how he treats the people he interviews.

@@musicaltarrasque the whitakers videos was only controversial because people get way too invested and tyler is young and took what they told him at face value. On top of that softwhite underbelly DID do some shady stuff, which I think pushed tyler over the line into assuming the whitakers were right. like how he tried to have a contract with the whitakers and told tyler he couldn't see them? that was real. I do not blame him for not seeking more info from the guy. It sucks it happened that way, but that wasn't tyler just "content farming/stirring up drama". Even if it was, WHO CARES. He makes good videos.

@@Lauwit Why can't someone do it for both? You could apply that to literally ANY youtuber. How is that some bad connotation? Most successful people, whether it be music, videos, art, etc, start doing it because they love doing it. Then when they become successful and they quit their day job, it becomes both. Obviously you have to make money to do it as your job. You people blow my mind.

@realstor9361

@@traceyoung9876 I'm saying moral arguments are meaningless and in this case ugly. The root of the problem is the current system that allows this situation. More specifically the authors themselves and the people who maintain it. What exactly is surprising about the homeless knocking on our door? Can we even imagine what a week of homelessness is like? It's not just being exposed to the elements or going without food or water. Or the anguish of just not wanting to die. It's also watching every soul breeze by as if you're just another blob in the background. Of course, we can assume there are homeless who are not squatting; but how would you know if it's out of morality or circumstance? To be clear I in no way believe the squatters are in the right. In my opinion these homeowners should obviously be allowed to kick them out with no repercussions. But can you imagine a homeowner repeatedly fighting off squatters and never asking why all of a sudden they believe they can take his home? Tldr: The squatting situation is merely a symptom. Being angry at squatters is a waste. Be angry at the ones who started and want it.

@@realstor9361 the second they move in to the house, they have opportunities that would otherwise not have, so they do deserve blame.
