Man I had people telling me "have fun with those repair bills" on my 08 CLS550 and I never had a bill over $300 in the years and 50K miles I've put on it. Fuck dumb people. That saying really gets under my skin. I had a fucking Chrysler200c that was absolute garbage and cost me hella $$ in the first year having it. I was luckily able get the CLS on payments and traded the 200c in. The common man's a fool.

kunalhuhu you can send the module off and have it rebuilt if so. I have that unit in my car and it works great when it works. Every car has an Achilles heel. I like the car!

SBC is a walk in the park compared to the ABC suspension. Get that sucker flushed or youll pay through your nose for repairs.

Also you might want to look into getting an autel maxidas to do diagnostics. Autel has replicated star diagnosis pretty dam well

And get the vario roof checked.

+im Schwaggy - The car is tough, and obviously not well cared for. The engine bay looks like the previous owners used the car for off-roading with the local 4x4 club. In the first 2 mins of Tavarish opening the car door you can see the keyless go button has broken off, the driver's power window switch is broken off, the driver's headrest button is broken off, the bottom seat trim is smashed and broken, etc, etc. I didn't watch after the 20 mins mark (too long) but you can bet there are many other issues with this car, including some potentially large and serious repair bills ahead with some of the complex systems. There's a reason a wholesaler is flipping this for $8900, it's because the cost of repairs, plus his initial cost of the car, exceeds the realm of reasonable profitability. I assume Tavarish is going to source out cheap used parts and do much of the work himself. A wholesaler cannot be bothered, there are easier flips to make money with. These cars have poor reliability reputations when they get this old and have this many miles, so they're difficult to sell to people who have money, and people who don't have money are afraid that a car like this will break them. So the market is limited. If you like exotics, or semi exotics. Buying cars in this condition can be a fun way to enjoy the hobby. But you need to have deep pockets or big balls - or both.

It's not even that expensive LOL These are just idiots who go to the Dealer for repairs and Walmart for oil changes. I also go to a performance Mechanic for mine. Brand new it's generally expensive to replace parts. But the older models have a yhuge! support in aftermarket AND original parts both online and through different companies.

You can delete the hydraulic lift and airbag suspension. The transmission can be swapped over to a manual. The supercharger is not necessary as the raw v12 makes enough power to move a house. Most of the modules can be bypassed or removed from the car.

At least in Germany you get parts really cheap, especially from accident cars. Also, a lot of parts can be easily repaired (I drove 7 years various Mercedes models from C(LK) to S(L)(K) class).

He's only done 1 update on it and nvr heard or seen the truck since then.

Tavarish so say a basic warranty is 2k? If the engine or transmission goes, wouldn't sourcing a new one be lots more? Or even a major vehicle computer could run a few thousand? Maybe this one is new enough where it's reliable, I just know everyone who bought a older high end MB warranty, had it pay for itself or more (much like Doug with his Rover or Aston warranty).
