En skönt avslappnande vardaglighet och tråkighet, som jag och min far brukade uttrycka det på 80-talet. Dock mest en bit utanför Stockholm, säg på bussen ut mot Roslagen... (I'm not going to try to translate this.)

You are soo much welcome back Stefan! And at the best time of the year as well. Light is comming back and nature is waking up. Right now we have what we call "aprilväder" which means spring is taking a short brake 😎 Everything is relative and for us living in a small town 70 km away from a big city the pace is Stockholm is often described as stressful. So I hope you will start making content again. CU.

Glad to see that you're back! It's always such an interesting experience coming back home after spending time in a new place for a while. You notice things that you may have not noticed before, see things with a fresh perspective, and there's always that sense of "ahhh I'm back home". I felt that way whenever I came back to Mexico after visiting family in the U.S. Every time I landed back in Mexico, everything just felt so much better and more comfortable. ❤️

We’ve lived in Spain for many years both in a bigger city and in the country side and only in the summer when people eat out and it’s really hot they have dinner between 10pm and 11pm and sometimes later. At home people generally have a light meal at night and not a big dinner. Most people who eat at home I would do it maybe at 9pm and restaurants open for dinner at 8pm so it’s possible to dine then as well. Spanish people don’t really eat breakfasts like we do in Sweden. They have a coffee and a biscuit and then they have a breakfast break at work (depending on job) at around 10am, hence why lunch is around 14 or 15 and dinner later. They also might have merienda (snack, mellanmål) between lunch and dinner 😊

It depends on what you're used to. Of course you're going to be more stressed in a city if you're used to living out in the woods. Though..... I've been to Stockholm, London, Berlin and Tokyo and I haven't found them stressful at all...even though I come from the parts of Sweden where nobody lives. XD; (the north)

I live in the city centre of Stockholm and feel so relaxed here. Just walking in Hagaparken or Humlegården or Djurgården or even the old town and feel fantastic and I’m still struck by it’s beauty nearly every day. Give Stockholm a chance I’d say. Just avoid Sergels torg and shit like that. Head to Djurgårdsbrunnskanalen and you WILL love it.

I don’t believe that you can learn a language fluently in six weeks. I have been here 23 years I have pretty good vocabulary BUT I still come across words I have heard before, you maybe able to get the basics if you study every day but to be fluent in six weeks, I personally don’t think is possible.

Greetings from Spain, Stefan! I agree with your ...discoveries. That's exactly how it is. Myself, I've become a lot less social these last two years, Covid related, of course!, and that's given me the opportunity to return to a healthier time schedule, with earlier nights and Swedish eating times. ;-) It's also striking how much more Swedish your body language has become, in these five years, and how much less west-coasty your English is now. Very _interesting_ to compare!

Relating so much to the doublecheck everything to see it makes sense to any US/Eng native. It's not only the words, but also how translate and to build sentences from swedish "lingers" in my head to Eng heads lingers. I by some reason build long sentences including different parts and aspects of a subject that finally works in Swe but afterhand i see it's not correct (though understandable). Im quite old and slowly learned/still learning my english by early on aged 7-8 yo got lost in advanced music like Cooper, Deep Purple etc, brought lyrics in pieces too school and asked my teacher about them, hehe but lyrics in themselves in those days could be hard to understand and often left me with my own logic, internet though have made me read and listen to quite advanced subjects and understand most of it. So reading and writing i think i by myself im quite good at (also have time to check words i dont know, or are stuck in a cluster of words i mix up, words i know but have to bang my head bloody to bring up. bla bla.. cake tare' ☻

I totally get the life style thing. I'm German and I lived in Barcelona for 6 months as a student. My whole biological rhythm got so messed up - it was really exhausting for me to be up so late and eat so late and everything. And every time I wanted to have lunch everything was closed due to the siesta. :-D It was a relief to get back home and eat lunch around noon and go to sleep before midnight ;-)....But Barcelona is beautiful and Spain is a wonderful country. Just a thought on the differences between sweden and spain...regarding time of meals and so on, in most countries nearer the equator traditionally thay have had 'siestas' a few hours after the sun passes zenit, a time when it get the hottest, and its seems that having a meal just befor the 'siesta' seem resonable as most ppl has a lower energy lvl just after..eg less productive...so after the 'siesta' the energy lvl of ppl should be restored, and the rest of the day is shifted towards evening.. Think of this in perspective, 150 years ago tools and cars wasent what it is today...and to explify during the industralization most countries went troug, tools/machines was built to increase production, thay wasent designed to ease to life for ppl at first....

Sweden is not as safe as it was 20 years ago, I have been here for 23 years, there is more crime and violence in the big cities. Swedes are generally peaceful but we have had riots here recently in several big cities, lots of cars burnt and the police, seems to be a hobby with a section of the population.

Probably, but compare with other countries like Spain, Italy, France… Sweden is one of the safest compared to them. I’m from Rome, and as a 23 years old woman, I’m not felling safe.
