The face numbness is the worst. Scared me thinking I was having a stroke. Still talked fine, smiled fine and blood pressure was normal. Dipping messes with nerves big time

I never used any tobacco products in my life! What truly deterred me from dipping was learning about Sean Marsee in middle school!

Thanks for the comment! Sean's story is SO powerful. I had the opportunity to hear Jason Marsee (Sean's brother) tell his story at a conference back in 2011. www.killthecan.org/the-sean-marsee-story-told-first-hand/

@@KillthecanOrg Oh yes! I have seen that video of Jason talking about Sean and the family's experiences dealing with Sean's cancer! I think it's amazing that Jason educates and lectures the youth about the dangers of tobacco products, especially chewing tobacco and how he coped with Sean's experiences and death! Jason and Sean are definitely saving lives! I'm 45 years old and Sean Marsee made me think twice after all those times I've been offered! And more than likely saved my life! I'll have to say you are doing the same thing and I commend you for your videos! Keep it up! You're saving people!

After 25+ years of dipping from sun up to sun down all day everyday, I decided to stop the habit due to what was going on inside my mouth, the blisters, lesions, white patchy tissue on my lips and all over the inside my my mouth and the change in my voice as I would often swallow the tabacco juice. April 4th 2024 was my last can and now I’m at April 13 cold turkey. The cravings have been controlable as can consciously tell myself “remember why you made this decision?” The path I was going on wasn’t going to end well for me. One who wants to quit really has to feel it is the right time. No matter what anyone tells you, it all comes down to knowing for yourself that it is time to quit for good!

There's a difference between cravings and withdrawals. The cravings never go away. But the withdrawals do, and thats the important thing.

my cravings went away 30 years - 18 to 48 - a can of Copenhagen a day. The last 2 years I would even put a dip in before I went to bed. I prayed and ask God to remove the cravings. By day 100 I was good. first 4 days - hell 4 days to 2 weeks - very hard 2 weeks to 30 days - hard but starting to ease up 30 days to 50 days - good, you can sleep now day 50 to 70 Free! wouldn't care if you ever chewed again. Day 70 - feels like day one Day 70 to 90 - hard Day 90 - you are good again. Hang on to day 100 and you are good. Been free 13 years. Don't even really think about it. Showed up here to hopefully help someone else get free. Look out for around day 70. The cravings come back really bad. I got stuck there a few times with the attitude "if I am always craving this hard I would rather just chew." but I'd you hang on until day 100 you are done.

A lot of "cravings" are just remembering. Once you learn to say, "oh, I'm just REMEMBERING that I would dip.", you'll feel a lot better. I quit close to cold turkey and it's not really bad at all. When you park your car in the same spot everyday, and then you realize that you parked a few spaces down, do you panic and go BUT I NORMALLY PARK THERE?? Or do you just get into your car

Just get through the first 3 days. After that you slowly start forgetting about it. I’m on week 3 and I dont think about but only a handful times a day. Ive quit prior for 13 years and it took a few months to completely forget about it. It’s a habit. Dipping after you eat, watching a movie, etc. I had a dip in all day. Once you break that habit, you’re good. Don’t get me wrong a dip always sounds good, but to crave it goes away after a few months, at least it did for me.

I'm on day 3 of no dip right now. Just decided to cold turkey it. For me it's the "rituals" I guess you could call it. Like puttin in a fat ass dip after supper. Or putting one in first thing in the morning. I have a lot of things that I do that I never realized that I would always put a dip in for. Just little odd ones, like I noticed that I don't ever not have a dip in when i go to feed the chickens... Or I never don't put a dip in when I take a shower then immediately throw it out when I'm done showering. Then I'll go eat and immediately put in a fat dip when I'm done eating... It's the rituals lol. It's been rough but I'm making it so far. Not a single dip in three days, no substitute like gum or tea or anything.
