The court understands that he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Unfortunately such people are not held in prison for long. Prison term is basically rehhabitating them. On the flip side of things he is in a far worse prison now because he is able to remember what he did. This is by far worse than jail term.

However the reality is you would never have done the bad actions had it not been for the bad ‘influence’. Cause and effect is a completely different issue from accountability. We had two brothers who murdered their wealthy parents because they wanted their inheritance and insurance money. This is narcissistic and psychopathic behavior. They feel they deserve what isn’t theirs and have a sense of grandiosity. The fact that he consumed his mother’s body after the fact, makes him even more dangerous to society. He will do this again if he hasn’t already. This is the behavior of a serial killer.
