This is my in-depth deep dive and theory on the Identity of Clone CX-2 in Bad Batch Season 3. There is much speculation about who this Clone is, and I believe I have cracked the case! Star Wars is an American epic space opera multimedia franchise created by George Lucas, which began with the eponymous 1977 film and quickly became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon.
The Star Wars franchise depicts the adventures of characters "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away", in which humans and many species of aliens (often humanoid) co-exist with robots (typically referred to in the films as 'droids'), who may assist them in their daily routines; space travel between planets is common due to lightspeed hyperspace technology. The planets range from wealthy, planet-wide cities to deserts scarcely populated by primitive tribes. Virtually any Earth biome, along with many fictional ones, has its counterpart as a Star Wars planet which, in most cases, teem with sentient and non-sentient alien life. The franchise also makes use of other astronomical objects such as asteroid fields and nebulae. Spacecraft range from small starfighters, to huge capital ships such as the Star Destroyers, to space stations such as the moon-sized Death Stars. Telecommunication includes two-way audio and audiovisual screens, holographic projections, and HoloNet (internet counterpart).
The universe of Star Wars is generally similar to ours but its laws of physics are less strict allowing for more imaginative stories. One result of that is a mystical power known as the Force which is described in the original film as "an energy field created by all living things ... [that] binds the galaxy together". The field is depicted as a kind of pantheistic god. Through training and meditation, those whom "the Force is strong with" exhibit various superpowers (such as telekinesis, precognition, telepathy, and manipulation of physical energy). It is believed nothing is impossible for the Force. The mentioned powers are wielded by two major knightly orders at conflict with each other: the Jedi, peacekeepers of the Galactic Republic who act on the light side of the Force through non-attachment and arbitration, and the Sith, who use the dark side by manipulating fear and aggression. While Jedi Knights can be numerous, the Dark Lords of the Sith (or 'Darths') are intended to be limited to two: a master and their apprentice.
Force-wielders are very limited in numbers in comparison to the population. The Jedi and Sith prefer the use of a weapon called a lightsaber, a blade of plasma that can cut through virtually any surface and deflect energy bolts. The rest of the population, as well as renegades and soldiers, use plasma-powered blaster firearms. As a result of galaxy-scaled politics (involving republics, empires, kingdoms, alliances, etc.), all this weaponry is made use of in various military conflicts during which most Star Wars material takes place. In the outer reaches of the galaxy, crime syndicates such as the Hutt cartel are dominant. Bounty hunters are often employed by both gangsters and governments. Illicit activities include smuggling.

I think it’s Tech. There’s been a whole lot of foreshadowing with the mentions and references just about every episode. Plus how he was able to crack that encryption so fast. Definitely a Tech trait.

I think the encryption cracking was just because of the scomp link he had. All CX operatives are given a vast amount of technology and tools to help them. Like I said though, it’s one of the other. Cody or Tech. Easily

@@CantinaTalkSWit can't be tech, it's way too obvious. Plus when CX2 speaks he sounds like a regular clone. Not tech, tech has a vary distinct voice. That even under a modulator could be heard slightly. When the modulator goes out even slightly it sounds like a normal Reg clone.

The writing for this show is quite clever. As we question who CX-2 might be and discuss the possibilities, we forget all about the creativity in the plot or sub plots as it were. Why is Omega? What is Palpatine planning? Well we know the end result. Apart from the filler monsters that seem to pop up weekly, I enjoy this show so much more than the sequels, but that isn’t hard.

Well with all the episodes we had, and episode 3 three with techs eyeglass being shown, and while talking about him alot and shown again in ep 10, 11,12, the eyeglasses where shown and in episode ten he did say "search every domicile" and the person who only knows that word is tech. and tech's last words before dying was "When have we followed orders" and this clone is bad at following orders. but we'll see in the next three eps Cody or Tech

Definitely has been a lot of tech recently lately, the domicile is very telling too. Like I said, it’s either one of them. Tech or Cody. Cody just randomly leaving in season 2 after one episode and never hearing anything else is just so odd. Why bring him back just to make him leave right away. At least that’s how I feel ya know?

I want to believe that CX-2 is Cody. I do believe that Cody did go awol after his and Crosshair's mission in 2x03 but was captured by the Empire and tortured to be converted to becoming CX-2. In a way, it would fit his original story about him still serving the Empire for year's after Revenge of the Sith. It would explain his hand-to-hand combat skills, as well as how he handles a knife in that skirmish with Crosshair. Even though we never saw Cody use a rifle blaster in The Clone Wars, nor he seemed so technical like Tech, whatever Hemlock's does to processing procedures for his clone prisoners. It does seem like it is excessive to a degree that they forget everything who they were before and memories they had with others, except knowing who certain clones and individuals are by imbedding that knowledge into them. Like that first Clone-X knew who Rex was, but Rex didn't recognize him at all, even without his Identifying Number, Rex didn't have a clue who he was. With no signs of Cody after 2x03 "The Solitary Clone", it does stand to reason that he was captured and converted to CX-2. But I can't shake this uneasy feeling that CX-2 is Tech, it would explain other similarities the two share and he is indeed alive. But I hope that he isn't CX-2 but that Tech is alive.

I agree with all of this 100% there are a ton of similarities between both Cody and tech with CX-2. I think since the empire was already taking blood samples from the batch in Season One they could’ve taken those, figured out what made their special abilities unique and spliced them with the CX operatives in a more grounded way. Like you said, we’ve never seen Cody with a rifle or being really familiar with technology. The same can be said for tech, but just the rifle part. I also love in The Solitary Clone that Rex is known just like you said and CX isn’t at all. That’s what makes me think that they are implementing these clones that have gone against the empire as motive towards having such a huge grudge against them. I just personally don’t want them to touch techs death. I love his death, and I honestly think it would be better if he just stayed dead. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love for him to return. If he did though it would just make his death less meaningful. At least to me

@@CantinaTalkSW for Tech's death, I do understand what you're saying and respect it. For me, even in that situation in 2x16 "Plan 99" when it obvious that someone wasn't gonna make it while for others and I was one of the few who were shocked about his sacrifice. I just don't believe Tech is dead. For someone like Tech, it was clear from the time he was introduced, Tech was always the calm collective one, even under the most stressful situations in the most chaotic environments in TCW. Tech was still able to think clearly and give the best instructions, we never once saw him show any emotions (much at least), or loses his temper or so much as bark or snap even when he does feel those things. Even when he and Wrecker bicker and argue at each other, or when he fractured his femur back in 2x02 "Ruins of War", and when he does actually have a heart to heart talk with Omega in 2x09 "The Crossing". He always seems to be focused on finding a solution or an answer to any problems he's faced with, even when he is bruised and banged up. When he made that sacrifice in Plan 99, yes, it was a situation that not everyone was gonna make it and Tech ended up being the one to make choice to save everyone at the cost of his own. But even in that state of mind, even if we don't see whatever was under that cloud cover to know for sure. Tech being Tech had to had found a way to survive, even if it meant him getting banged up a bit more than a fractured femur alone. But to me, if he did survive and the fact we haven't seen him in S3 of Bad Batch, his sacrifice wouldn't be any less meaningful. By now, TBB, Omega and Phee have all come to terms, mourn (even if we haven't seen it) and have accepted Tech's death. When Omega brought his goggles to the Archium on Pabu, I believe that was a way for her and the rest to finally say goodbye to Tech and lay him to rest on a peaceful place they called a home. In a way, she and they still sad about him being gone, but it was time to let her brother go and move on. But, I'm a firm believer that Tech's still alive, based on his character and his personality is why I can't stop holding onto hope. With the mystery of who is CX-2 the numerous similarities he shares with both Tech and Cody, with his fighting skills and how skilled he is with tactical strategy and computer data. We can only wait until the last 3 episodes air.

@@rashworth080 I agree with all of this, one of the writers for the show said in an Interview that with Echo pretty much having the same capabilities as Tech they needed to remove one from the picture and they decided to obviously have Echo leave the batch, but it wasn't enough going into season 2 so they needed to remove tech so that Echo would have a reason for actually having to stick around. At least Tech's death was extremely noble and I'm glad we got it.

I think their gonna go with the Original Route for Cody during the Kenobi show, from what I remember during the movie script Cody goes Rouge from the Empire and ends up using Kenobis training over the war to track down Obi-Wan Kenobi, I remember hearing that in the beginning he would watch Kenobi and keep all Imperial forces off his back while also remaining near by to protect Kenobi without ever letting Kenobi know. Im not sure what their plan was to go with this story line, but I would love to see Kenobi season 2 pick up on Commander Cody (Live Action) on the run after what seen from him last in BadBatch

I hope so, but sadly Lucasfilm and Disney confirmed that Kenobi Season 2 wouldn't be happening moving forward. With every show that has been renewed for a second season or more, they title the box set of it Complete Season 1 and with Kenobi, it is titled The Complete Series. Meaning that we are not getting any more Kenobi as sad as it is to say it.

Great vid main theory’s I’ve seen is it’s ether Cody or what I think is a clone of crosshair there’s been subtle hints at tech but a lot of hints of crosshair being like you said how he spoke to crosshair fighting said he chose the wrong side crosshair back when he was serving the empire said to hunter he made the wrong choice when he was cleared for duty he said what are my orders cx 2 said to scrotch my orders also not to mention that during the fight yeah he did land some but he knew how crosshair fought and now we know with it being confirmed but just shortened down that the only reason crosshair turned was because he saw how other clones who we’re like him as in clones who wanted to be apart of the empire was treated then he realised he was wrong and like he said in 6 or seven he realised how disposable he was if it wasn’t for mayday being left to die I generally think he would still be serving it is more than likely going to be Cody but I personally think there is more hints to it being a clone we know crosshair was a good solider always did what was needed to be done maybe hemlock knew that and when he failed to get him to rejoin the empire all the samples he used he used to make a clone don’t forget everyone hemlock is smart from what crosshair was saying so I wouldn’t put it past him if he had the resources to clone clones

Mayday was a huge tipping point for Crosshair, and I think Cody really started it all for him. I personally don't see him cloning the clones, but it is a possibility for sure!

ES-03 would make sense and I’d go for it, but the only thing is he doesn’t have the clone voice. The rest of the CX operatives do so CX-2 has to be a clone. If he didn’t have the clone voice I’d 100% think that it’s ES-03

I completely agree, Cody being CX-2 was my first thought. The hate he shows towards Crosshair has all the sense. Cody blame him for being captured and tortured, after he denied to follow the order of killing the former gobernor of Desix and Crosshair finished her.

Great scripted and edit theory. You put a lot of thought into this one spanning many episoids. Yes, it's difficult to predict what will happen in the upcoming episodes. There are various theories circulating among fans, but I'm concerned about the possibility of another character like Marrok, someone who is not well-known. It's not just Cody who has only appeared in one episode of Clone Wars, as it has also happened with characters like Ventress and Ohee, while Sid was only mentioned. Even the Martez sisters, who work with Rex, haven't made a reappearance. If Cody were to be brought back only to be killed off soon after, it would feel like a cheap way to eliminate his character, which would be a waste. If Cody does make a comeback, he needs to play a more significant role. If the C-X clone is Cody, it wouldn't be possible to turn his memory and soul around in time for a redemption. Anyway, since Rampart has been brought back, I'm more focus on if he will indeed help the Batch, be redeedm or just die too. Maybe we should try predicting who else other than Rex , Gregor and Wolf, will live instead. In the end the Emperor wins, the excuse will be that there was a mining daster, and Palpatien will continue his cloning effort on Exegol. Omega promised that girl on Papu that she would return, and I suspect she will place the helmets of his Clone Family on that shelf along with Lulu and Tech's glasses. All evidence on Mt Tantis of Omega's existence is destroyed and she lives on. So little time left, so much to be resolved. My head boils with fraught. Best Tony.

Out to dinner with my wife currently, I’ll respond more in-depth when I get back home. My next video was actually going to be on who the survivors are going to be and I think Echo will survive for example. Along with that, I think the helmets ending would be Perfect!

Hey! I apologize for taking so long.. Have had quite a hectic weekend. It definitely is difficult to predict what will happen, my videos are just theories. I may be predicting something, but I doubt it'll happen. Just having fun with the ideas my brain comes up with. I agree it would feel cheap to have him be brought back just to be killed off, maybe even he doesn't have to die. It just feels like CX-2 is already way too far gone and I think if Rex was the one who had to kill him that would be Rex's tipping point. As you said, there isn't time for redemption and I'm honestly okay with that. I think Cody being CX-2 would be almost the perfect punishment or lesson to Rex and the Clones that this is what will happen when you cross the empire. I feel like Rampart will help them, but he also will have his own angle and agenda and will probably get himself caught again or killed. My next video (writing it today) Is on who the survivors of this show will be. We know the big 3 will obviously live, but Omega, for example, Echo, Howzer, etc. We already know where this leads so we just have to now wait to find out how we get to that point in this show. I would love for all of the helmets to be on Pabu with Lulu and Tech's glasses. Tantiss evidence like you said will without a doubt be destroyed as well as Omega's existence. They have been making it extremely obvious and overly pointing to the point that makes us think that it is Tech. Like almost every episode they try to push that onto us and it's to divert expectations...

Okay this is a great video it does have a lot of merit. Even if this CX2 turns out to be Cody, I expect his brothers to find a way to bring him back, even if he dies afterwards. I personally hope that isn’t Cody he should be back in the future. But you are a talented man and your video was great so let’s hope that they’ll do something special for Cody.

I really hope he doesn’t die, but I just don’t see how they can bring him out of the brain washing with the current state of the underground and that they are pretty much all on the run. @@sergioandrescontreras5251 I had just finished this video an hour before it was uploaded and worked on this one for over 12 hours. Echo and the other survivors will hopefully be done and up around Monday. My wife and I’s anniversary is tonight and we both took this weekend off so I’m going to try and spend it with her. I’ll start working on it Sunday night through. I have a progress of making my videos. I do all of my research, write the script, voice record, edit the audio, record all of my clips and screenshots, edit those in, add in music and then re watch everything over to make sure there aren’t any error and then start rendering the video and getting it ready for the uploading process. Usually my videos take anywhere from 12-16 hours in total to make. My Ahsoka episode breakdowns took over 40 hours to complete so it’s definitely a process. With all of that being said, hopefully Sunday night I’ll be starting and it’ll be up Monday evening 🤞🏽

Also have to add as I forgot one thing I noticed if you look at the clip where Cody and crosshair speak you can see there is a height difference between them and even tho it was only a split second if you go to the part of the vid where he’s fighting crosshair just before he uppercuts him you can see there isn’t a height difference between them

Thats true, but I did mention that CX-2 has a limp and that he might even have some enhancements. For example, when Vader got his new metal legs, he gained almost an entire foot of height. I believe that something happened during the torture process that led to this happening.

It’s possible, I think it’s more likely that they were the precursor to Dark Troopers. (Legends anyway a clone Assassin squad was created before the dark troopers just like this)

I agree very much. Star Wars fans are delusional and have to realize it’s not tech. Plus Cody wouldn’t just disappear like that and we just never see him again. If we don’t see him this episode coming up or the finale CX-2 has to be Cody.
