Jake was so respected in the gospel music community. Depsite the fame, he had so much humility. Performers of all genres could learn from a performer like Jake, he personified the greatest.

I love Jake Hess! He has a rich voice and such a kind and expressive face; and, that welcoming smile! He is one in a million; a living legend in the Southern Gospel community. The song he sung is very moving and very comforting. He delivered it so beautifully! Thank you Jake. ❤❤

I can only echo everyone else's comments. My dad passed away almost two years ago and we played this song at his funeral. He was blind and was unable to walk but now..... He is now completely healed and in the presence of God Almighty. I cannot wait for the day we are reunited. I love and miss you dad💔😪

Song is beautiful. We believers will one day be at our final home. What a rejoicing day that will be. Can you just imagine being there and you see Jake Hess the Goodman's, Danny Gaithier, oh the list just keeps going. Talk about a choir . I am 63 now, I can remember when I was small going to all the gospel singing's on the weekends. All the greats inspired me and I've been a professional musician most of my life. Always wanted to play like Hovey and and Anthony. I never made it to the Gaithers show as a performer but it doesn't matter, cuz I know where I am now

I have this album on cassette and I can't listen to this song without tears. My cousin passed away 20 years ago and they played this at his funeral so I always think of him when I hear this.

If you are asking about the grey haired guy in the black shirt at :54 that is JD Sumner...JD and his group, The Stamps Quartet, sang back up with Elvis at his concerts....No relation to Elvis, but very important to Elvis...

Roy Acuff originally. There was a old story that when Roy was in his older age, he was quite frail, and lost most of his sight. He asked to go back to the Opry once more, and so they took him there. They took him to the entrance ramp, where the old stage door was. He grabbed ahold of the railing and "I know where I am now, I can make it from here", which inspires the first line of the song "They loaded him in, and drove him to the opry, he was old now and weary, and very near blind, they led him the ally that led to the stage door, to grant him his last wish, just to be kind". That story inspired Bill and Gloria so much that they wrote this song.When deciding who to sing it, they immediately thought of Jakem someone so respected and so loved in the gospel community, By this time you can see, Jake was older himself, and had his own health problems. The second verse was really a tribute to him, and was later used in the Tribute to Jake Hess video in 2004, after Jake passed away.
