Uff i was really relieved when you said 10 hours a day for 3 days! 30 hours straight would be awful and wouldn't even help you learn without sleep

Yeah, well 10 hours is basically the waking day once you take into account breakfast, set up, wind down etc. I mean not quite but 30 hours over 3 days is pretty close to "straight" for me.

Learning Spanish comes down to verbs. The rest just happens to be there or is easily covered. A systematic coverage of the verb system is the backbone, main course, the sun around which the rest orbits.

@@andrewjgrimm Well I am a tutor, I have worked in the classroom, GCSE and A level. So long as you have the skeleton of the verb system set out in a reasonable progression (I settled on Present tense, future, conditional, perfect, pluperfect, (future perfect and conditional perfect as minor variants) imperfect, preterit, present subjunctive, past subjunctive as the best sequence. Then add whatever topic language as you wish, as time permits. Could be years. To the extent that a silver bullet exists, it is this. I found al attempts to bypass this foundation would eventually come to a dead end, a restricted result which reached its limit. There is no easy way.

Haha it tends to look a lot neater when I'm filming something. I've actually got a video about this - if you go to my channel and type "learning studio" or something - the one with a very "cool office" thumbnail.

Are you including ChatGPT in your language studies? If so, can you make a video of how you incorporate it? (including some tricks on how to use it (commands etc))

I asked ChatGPT to translate 400 Spanish sentences (during a two week period) into English and to explain the grammatical structure of those sentences. I checked the answers with a friend of mine from Chile - she said it got all the translations correct(!)

I really don’t think $100k to send a bunch of kids from Australia to the US sounds crazy at all. I live in the US and really wanted to go to Australia and I looked at the flight prices and changed my mind it’s like between $1,500 and $3,000 per person depending on the time of year!

Just checking: Donating to this isn’t tax-deductible, is it? (For non-Australians: In Australia, donations given to charities are tax-deductible, and it’s a big enough deal that a lot of donations to charity are done just before the end of the financial year) Also, for anyone curious, $1000 for one hour equates to $16.67 for one minute, or $250 for fifteen minutes for those who prefer round numbers.

@@jamestandy8594 Totally agree. I got duped by the title, didn't I? Immersion is not bad, per se, if it is paced by different degrees of familiarity and pressure. Then it is more like visiting a country and "living" the language. One never the less needs much more rest, sleep, exercise, nature walks, and music in between, than in ordinary daily life in one's familiar language. And healthy energy, too...
