I hope you enjoyed my journey and my experience living in Bali, even tho it was cut much shorter than expected by my scooter accident and there was still so much more I wanted to discover. ( I crashed, not my brother, and no one died, whilst writing this video a year later I created the ending to feel as if that could have been the end for me given the nature of it, however looking back on it, It actually seemed very much as though someone did, so apologies for this ) To those wondering about my masterclass. Due to my accident and some downward energy afterwards, it has been very delayed and is currently still in the planning stages. However it's on the way and I'll be making it into an incredible course for those who want to learn my ways of creating. I'm also not living in Bali anymore, due to my accident and other things but even though Bali is a great place to meet other creators and feel apart of something more, I learn't my home, Melbourne is a much more viable and realistic place to work on my projects and ambitions, so for now I'll be here grinding! Also apologies for any adds in the video, I chose to use lots of non copy-write free music and that means automatic adds /:

Ive been a full time digital nomad/expat for the last 18 years, at 20 years old back in 2004 i started my first ecommerce company in Europe, and realized i could run the business from anywhere in the world so i went travelling around the world for 2 years while growing my business which was the best feeling in the world because i was growing my savings WHILE travelling, i was probably one of the first humans to ever be able to do that. After 2 years of travel i settled down in boracay island Philippines and made it my home while still travelling about 50% of the time but having a base in the Philippines. If you're thinking of going travelling or getting into this life, DO IT, TODAY! start today. Its a whole different universe to the 9-5 in your home town.

Here in South Africa I sometimes feel completely isolated in the KZfaq Space but it's guys like you and Niklas who keep me motivated! I also stayed in Bali for extended periods and it's exactly how you describe it, well done bro you smashed it!!! I first came across your video and I'm completely shocked by how well it was filmed, how well thought out the change of frames is, how everything looks aesthetically pleasing, graphics, transitions and effects are a separate respect, I have not seen anything like this. It can be safely called a movie or series that is above the level of Netflix. A very well presented story. It's a pity that under the video I can leave only one like, because I would leave a million of them here!

This video and your story is so captivating. I have lived and worked in Melbourne for 10+ years. I’ve just come back from Bali and toying with the idea of living there and starting out as a content creator. As a tropical fruit and sun lover it ticks a lot of boxes. But the transport thing is the ONE thing that has had me hesitating. There really is no viable way to get around other than a scooter. So timely I stumbled across your video and story. This video is a job well done 👍 I’m hanging out for the sequel!

Having lived in phangan and Samui Thailand for six and a half years I've seen many videos bigging up tropical climates like Bali. I lived in ubud for one month and the traffic is a nightmare. These videos rarely mention the downsides... one of the biggest being it's like living in a 30 degrees steamroom sauna all year round which is insanely draining for energy levels and you become trapped inside Aircon spaces for most of the day until 5.30pm when it starts to get cooler then it gets dark at 6.30pm. Bali is a paradise but too hot to explore in the day except for one hour, which is the hour when the mosquitoes come out late afternoon 5.30 pm to 6.30pm. I'm going back to UK as Ive had enough of the insane heat and humidity, it causes work productivity to go right down

That's honest. Even as an Indonesian living outside Bali and only came to Bali for vacay, Bali is too hot for me. Yes B is still beautiful. After all, it still takes a lot of adjustment to adapt everytime we move somewhere else. At the end of the day, we all have the right to choose where to live, just somewhere with the least damage and draining for us

You’re getting a pass because you have genuine talent, but I have to reiterate what I said under the last video I’m tired of the “I’m going to Bali to find myself” stuff and Bali in general. It’s soooo over-saturated at this point I can’t even bring myself to talk about it Having lived there for 2 years I never want anything to do with it again Canggu influencer circle jerk is the most annoying place on earth. It’s full of wannabe travel bloggers, cardboard personality girls hunting for an influencer bloggers and two occasional KZfaqrs filming a new DJI commercial People love the “paradise” because it’s cheap and warm, and if you’re a creator - as a bonus, the nature does most of the work for you Anyone I’ve ever met who says “this is my home, I finally found a place where I belong” says the *exact same thing* about Ibiza or the gulf states as soon as they’re able to afford those Go to Sri Lanka, go to Maldives, go to Kenya, go to Reunion Island or Madeira for god’s sake. Bali is dramatically overrated and I can’t stand watching it regurgitated again and again anymore This video is excellent, like I said, you’re certainly very talented, butt it hits every single Bali cliche in the book 🫠

I can't fault that, and after 2 months being there lots of these things were becoming evident. Especially the disappointing influencer side, it is cliche absolutely, and so overdone, but it was a journey I had to experience for myself. I'm glad I did and now I know.

Your community is here, Benn, not Bali. I have followed you since the early days before this channel blew up (initially as a lurker, then as a subscriber) and I used to love the short form videos that really showcased your editing skills. I think new viewers will find it difficult to become invested in you if you keep up the long form stuff, especially with oversaturated content like Bali. As a photographer and videographer myself, I know how much work goes into these videos and so I'm sure hearing this type of feedback can be painful, but it comes from a place of love. I have shared your work with all my friends over the years because what you are able to produce at times just boggles the mind. Sam Kolder sort of popularised this kind of content, but there is no doubt in my mind you took that kind of work to the next level. It seems to me that in recent videos you are trying to find this middle ground between travel videos and filmmaking/telling a story, but in the end it feels like both are found wanting, because one takes away from the other. It doesn't help that you are trying to tell a story in the context of travelling and visiting oversaturated places like Bali. I think at some point there will be a split in the road where you actually need to decide whether you make films with plots and stories beyond the whole "travelling to find myself and explore" concept, or whether you go back to doing what you do best: the short, relentless videos with next level editing (but in places that are not oversaturated), and you pitch them to brands, or local travel companies and agencies. I work for one in Cyprus, and would love to collaborate with you - no one has done anything like this yet here. Alternatively, maybe go down a different path where you actually make short films and pitch them at festivals. I realise this might be an unpopular opinion, but I also think it has to be said. I will continue to follow you and support you on your journey.

It’s better to create what you want vs what others want, otherwise he’ll end up in the same situation of living in the rat race. Sure you might get more views if you sell out and create content that doesn’t appeal to yourself, but the whole point of his channel is doing what makes him feel fulfilled. And if that means making long form content I think that’s what he should do
@KrissNorde
@KrissNorde 11 ай бұрын
I disagree a lot with that! Short form doesn't allow people to connect! Yeah it's great to get views. Do you even remember who you viewed yesterday? The day before? What people want is connection, to do that, you need to spend time with people. This is how relationship is build, even outside of youtube ... So long form is precisely what people who want connection need!

Incredible story telling, we felt like we where there for the whole journey. Bali truly is a beautiful place. We had a similar scooter experience on our bali journey which lead to 5 stiches in the knee and eventually requiring intravenous anti biotics. Bali hospitals are scary. Those pot holes and dodgy roads up the the north of the island are so rough, could have been the exact same road as well. Took us a month to recover while we had some touch and go moments, im sure yours was even worse. Looking forward to the next episode and im glad you are ok, keep up the epic work legend.

definitely my most fav videographer. after so many years, you're still the only content creator that put lots of efforts in every single video. never regret being your subs since under 100k subs. keep on going and stay strong.
