My heart goes out to you! No one deserves that no matter their beliefs or lifestyle. I’ve been hit with a big orange cone that was randomly out at school & some guy went out of his way to hit me across my face just because I was different. Mind you I was minding my business & stayed away from those certain people because I knew they hated me. I never told a teacher or my parents because I was embarrassed because I was different. Only God knew how I was feeling & healed me.

Mind-blowing to me that teenagers are so extremely involved in politics that they'll now defriend over it. Family, friends, co-workers, anyone I associated with never talked about politics, and I didn't get knowledgeable about it all myself til around 35. Shame on me, l guess... From the experience my daughters went through in high school, most of these activist kids are very surface level with politics. They have the high level Dem talking points and the intolerance down, but most have little depth to it - but they are real good at identifying and dogpiling anyone not them.

Oh my gosh, we can say that!” The 2020 election was also my first, as I was 17 during the previous one. Voted for Trump in 2020, would have voted for Trump in 2016, am going to vote for Trump in November! If you ever have days where you doubt that you’re making a difference, you are! Well, I’ve learned a lot, and have only come to see how much he was right about. It just to me finding it out on my own. I was still more right than left, but I didn’t really know anything about politics. Trump has a big decision to make for who he will be his VP, as they’ll have the best chance in 2028.!

In 8th/9th grade my best friend ghosted me because I was conservative. It hurt, especially when she went out of her way to be passive aggressive. I realize now, after 3 years of being upset over it, that it was God who removed her from my life. She didn’t bring me closer to God, if anything, she brought me further from him. Having someone you care about stab you in the back *will* hurt. But someday, you’ll be able to look back and see the good that has come from it.

My roommate held an intervention for me because I went to a party in September 2020 and he didnt want me to kill his grandmom with covid. (We both went to school 300 miles away from home and neither went home any weekend except thanksgiving and winter break). I lied to him and said it was a small get together. . .it was not, it was 40ish people. The next weekend I took my other roommate to the same party with me. He also tried to hold an intervention for me because I joined the college Republicans at my school. I didnt join for some extremist reason. I joined because it was my first year at PSU main campus (I did the 2+2 program) and I wanted to make friends, and they were the only group meeting in person occasionally. So he held an intervention and said I was being irrational by making politics my entire personality. I explained that I just was trying to make friends and that politics was nowhere near my whole personality. He condescendingly said pretty much "I dont get being a fanatic for politicians. I dont go around wearing political shirts or with political stickers anywhere. Thats crazy". And I agreed, I was like "yeah man I dont care to treat politicians that way either, why are you accusing me?", long story made short we argued a bit and then it blew over. 3 days later he had been canvasing for Biden, was wearing a Biden T-shirt, and had Biden stickers all over his laptop. The hypocrisy is crazy. Oh and need I mention the shirt he accused me of being obsessed with Trump over was a non-political blue lives matter shirt that was a memorial shirt for a cop who was killed in action on my street that same year. College liberals are wild.

Liberals being hypocritical. In other news fire hot. In all seriousness, I struggle to hold friendships with them for that very reason. Consistency is something that I value very highly and for leftists, especially American leftists, that is an insurmountable hurdle.

@EvilExcalibur oh buddy I 100% agree with this. My friend group used to consist mainly of liberals (cousins who were close in age, roommates, high school friends who were friends by proximity) despite myself being conservative. Two things led to those friendships ending- me cutting it off from their hypocrisy, and them cutting me off because I wouldn't change my stance that forcing people to take experimental vaccines was wrong (what happened to my body my choice? See, more hypocrisy!!) My friend circle has shrunken by 60-70% since high school graduation 6 years ago, all the friends who I stopped talking to being liberals, or people who toxically paraded stereotypical "conservative" ideology (like being prideful in legitimate racism for instance. They'd idolize Trump, misunderstand what he said, spout a conspiracy, then say something racist even for a *normal* person) because they thought it made them look manly when in reality 90% of their actions stunk of spoiled liberal brat. And honestly I'm much better now that all those people are gone.

@PeopleHaveNoGender in America an intervention is like a suprise group therapy session. It's most commonly used for drug addicts and other people who've been making destructive choices. Usually you'll walk into a room and you'll be suprised by family and friends ready to each deliver a speech or a letter addressed to you about how it's negatively effecting your and their lives in hopes that you'll change your ways for the better. In my case, this guy forced all our roommates to sit around while he basically lectured me about how my "destructive" choice to socialize in a new environment would kill his grandmother 300 miles away. Basically trying to get me to live in fear of covid the way he was because anything else was seen as "wrong" and "destructive". Needless to say, since it was a bullshit reason for an intervention, it drove me to hang out with even more people out of spite.

I lost one of my best friends because of my opinion on the LGBTQ community. She was lesbian and even had a crush on me and I didn’t agree with that but was still really understanding and sweet to her. She was really nice but just turned on me one day and we stopped being friends. She said I was a spoiled brat even though I was nothing but kind to her. Today, im glad I lost her friendship

You’re WAY better off you got out of that… A lot of women are easily manipulated & LGBTQ+ people often try to sway proclaiming straight people to end up “getting with” them… It’s really scary & I am so proud of you for staying true to yourself. No. Her timelines are all wrong. She said she moved away from her parents at 15 for being too overbearing, then in a recent video she admitted she was living with them from 14-20. Her college and working career doesn’t add up either. All lies.
