I was one of the people who fell off a whole ago, I don't subscribe to a lot of channels so if KZfaq stops recommending me something I'll likely forget it exists. But KZfaq recommended this!! And your progress is super awesome!!!! Game devs will always talk about how to set deadlines and get games out, and that's a nice idea in concept, but sometimes finishing a game isn't what's important. It's about enjoying your time, liking what you've made, and knowing what direction your game is headed. Obviously both you and your game have benefited from this. I'm really happy for you

I don’t think I was quite ready to take on a devlog series seriously but the mistakes I made have definitely given me a unique dev experience that I think many people can relate to in some way or another. Wow, this is a really refreshing and surprisingly self-aware(?) look at your work. I feel like I constantly watch every developer beskdes myself get tunnel vision for a bad idea, and it's really cool to have seen you break free in a way. This game looks significantly more fun and cohesive now, and i think you're headed in a great direction :) also the water physics are cool and i hope you do more with them!

Yeah I mean the truth is most of the devs you watch are similar to me. A lot of passion but we are amateurs. The difference between a devlog youtuber and a normal dev is that our mistakes are seen by a whole lot more people haha. I see making games as a very long conversation with someone you don’t quite know just yet. As you learn new things about them it changes the conversation and eventually once you both know each other well you can have some really great times

Looks like you managed to find a way to do all the biomes that you wanted and ultimately create the experience you were hoping for. I think the classic vibes you were talking about that your original game had comes from the simplicity and focus of the game-play. Your original game you took care of a little pet by feeding it and growing a farm/garden thing. This reminds me of tamagotchi/digital pets in general and is the kind of game people love to play. Easy to learn, clear mechanics, with room to explore and perfect systems for better results leading to an addictive and fun experience.

Yeah I definitely think that’s a reason why, I think the balance of the original game also lends to it being an enjoyable experience and it was also a project I had spent many hours in so there’s a lot of me at the time in the game

I really enjoyed your interview a couple weeks ago. I myself have pretty severe anxiety, mostly cause by a severe case of Misophonia. Although I don't have tons of confidence with my art, coding, ext skills, my YT community and their support helps me carry on. Especially when they are old school gamers like myself.

I'm glad you're having fun and taking care of yourself. My honest advice: you don't owe us a thing. If you never make another game, upload another video, or even say goodbye, you don't owe us. We are not real people in your life. BUT I do enjoy your vids and seeing you have fun. Making a game for YOURSELF is a good way to make a game that other people will also enjoy.

Something that I would recommend is adding a nice soundtrack to the game, Also you can make little wind effect like white particles flying by the screen with a nice sound to go with. one last thing is rain. I'm not sure you already have this but if you don't It would be nice if there was rain with a satisfying sound to it. Hope I helped

Which honestly comes with expernice and doing things which I had to find out the hard way aswell... which KZfaq really did you dirty as I was only getting the streams to my sub box and no videos... The blocks you can mine have a chance to drop fruit seeds like dirt and stone. When you plant them they have a small chance of becoming a rarer fruit like copper or gold fruit! It’s pretty cool

Whenever you leave a biome it’s reset and you need to do it all over again. There are things that stay though like the friendship with gellis and the challenges you completed

I really see this game being a success if you put it on mobile, Especially on android devices. Just slap some ads in turn for coins and sell the game for free.

Nope, dealing with mobile with a game with so many moving parts is annoying especially when you want to make it work on pc too. Too many control schemes to keep track of as a solo dev. Even doing full controller support was hard enough. Also, no way I’m gonna make people watch ads to unlock stuff in my game I’m not slimy like that

I personally expected this to be a super casual game, where you would have to go to new biomes to get new jellies, and then you would need to care for Jellies in there respective biomes, maybe being able to breed/discover new jellies, a tad bit like slime rancher, with corruption being a limiter in each biome, not really a game with an end goal just a game you play/vibe too that can be open on the side, a bit like a Tamagotchi game
