I wanted to show you my way of making Cowboy Coffee. It's quick and easy, and comes out with a great dark roasted, full bodied, and rich flavored taste! I solar ignited Oak catkins for a coal extender with my wallet fresnel lens and used them to ignite a leaves tinder bundle. In the Hobo Stove, I fueled the fire with branches, installed my crossed pot supports, and poured a Gatorade bottle full of water into the pot. After I got a boil, I removed from the heat, added 2 heaping tablespoons of McDonald's coffee, let it steep for 10 minutes, added a little honey and some Half And Half and got my TASTE TEST on... and on... and... Nice .. simple 👍. A traditional South African 'Bosveld' (Bush) means to get the grounds to settle is to put a piece of glowing coal from the fire into the Pot. Me .. I just use a little plastic mesh tea strainer .. or just pour carefully. But then, I'm a Philistine 😁.

If I was a coffee drinker I would try it. Fire only makes my mountain dew warm😁 lots of high clouds today so no solar fire today but I did go out in the woods and found a new branch for bow drill to get my fail last week out of my head.

Never thought about using honey in coffee but sounds good. Three days here on the SE NC coast with a Fire Danger Alert so no messing with the wood fires for the moment for me.... Oh yes, just made my first cup of Dandelion coffee the other day and it was not bad at all.

We used to call it hobo coffee there's another trick that goes with that if you're in a hurry after you're done sleeping or even right after boiling sprinkle some cold water right on the surface of your Brew it will make the grounds go straight to the bottom immediately

Hey David,it looks like you're drying some hand drill spindles in the back window of your car,we do that with our buckets of honey here,I made the mistake of doing it out in Arizona a few years ago-and melted the dang bucket-almost lost a whole gallon of honey!!

Many years ago I read a survival article about solar igniting with a palm size piece of ice shaped into a lens with the heat of the hands. At the time I doubted it could be accomplished. I'm wondering if you would consider trying the method?

Don’t throw away your used breakfast egg shells. Drop them in during the steep and it absorbs bitter coffee oils. Makes it taste like real smooth cowboy coffee Enjoy!

You can't 'really' eat chocolate covered coffee beans, can you? I don't know if you'd call my version 'city boy' coffee but I heat my water in a glass measuring cup in the microwave. I put my ground coffee in the hot water, stir just a bit then pour it into my cup through a permanent filter lined with a paper filter. Perfect every time!

Now you done went and ruined a good cup of coffee with adding stuff to it.
