Mamamoo videos are a great way to get out of a funk and make you smile, the girls are just so charming and funny, and we have a lot of talented moomoos whose editing skills are on point.

honestly, all four of these women are inspirations, each one in a different way and for different things as for the shaving her head thing, no, solar didn't actually shave her head. she absolutely was willing to, though, despite all the staff trying to stop her. the ceo told her the same thing he always tells these women when it comes to expressing their creativity in some way: "if that's what you want to do, go for it". she was going to actually shave her head after that until a few staff showed her how bald caps worked and talked her into doing that instead and that episode of jessi's showterview solar was on was absolutely amazing. those two wound up getting along so well and it surprised both of them also, you're right with her name. in korea, she's 'sol la', but internationally her name is 'solar'. kind of similar to wheein (her stage name is 'whee in', two different words, but her real name, which the stage name is based on, is basically 'hween', so that's what you'll usually hear the members call her. when introducing herself onstage, though, she nearly always does the two word version) on byul's part, that song she was rapping for when you talked about her flow is a cf called "girl crush". it's basically an ad for a mobile game, but like all of mamamoo's ad songs is still amazing ha, and then you discovered why purple hawke said byul's vocals were panty-dropping. the song she was singing there was part of a medley of tvxq songs she did for her solo stage at one of their concerts (btw, mamamoo's concerts are known for going 4+ hours long). tvxq is a boy group that byul has been quite a fan of and much of their music helped form the woman she is today (also, byul just yesterday/today did a happy pride month celebratory post on ig, last day of pride month. she's known for writing letters thanking and encouraging rainbow moos (gay members of the fandom) on national coming out day)

I'm enjoying watching your Mamamoo journey and don't really want to distract you from that, but after your comments about gg vs bg choreography you really should check out Purple Kiss. They are Mamamoo's sister group that just debuted this March 15th with their video Ponzona. They are very strong dancers have powerful choreography in their video's and do a lot of boy group dance covers. Their relay dance cover of Exo's Overdose is the hardest hitting ever. Their cover of BTS Danger, Count dance cover and Stage break (self choreographed) performance are other good examples.

It's actually 'Sol-La" both L's are pronounced (or u could think of it as emphasizing/stressing the L) me I just go with Solar (not So-lar, not standard english 'solar'..) but a mix of solar and Sol-la hybrid kor-eng pronunciation.. but then again I don't have any irl friends who are k-pop fans.. so it never becomes relevant xD

i totally agree about the diff standards for female vs male choreography. females can do the hard technical stuff too! it's more fun as well, just harder to do live. actually just today Mnet announced their first female dance crew survival competition show (think of it as a female Korean version of America's Best Dance Crew) with BoA - the biggest female soloist in K-Pop as a judge. hope they put out english subs bc that's something I really want to in this industry.
