Piano man is great for that retro back to the 30s but also, if you didnt catch it, they are singing about a man playing their bodies with his fingers, ahh oop is also. Um oh ah yeh was the song that put them into being famous and was written mostly by solar and there are insane live versions as well as a full acapella MV and them doing it live plus all 3 of these songs were redone in 2021. 1 CM is hilarous and really look for a live version from a concert, like 4 seasons 4 colors, they do a 10 minute animated skit voiced by them, to live stage skit for 10 more minutes of comedy with wheein saying the other 3 a dressed like boogers and then they go into 1CM at the end. Piano Man was the song that got me interested in Mamamoo and kept me listening to kpop when I thought it was nothing but bubblegum pop and wannabe hip hop. Gongchan is a member of B1A4. I wouldn't call the jazz thing subtle. The 40's noir concept for the MV matches the swing jazz era of the music. eSNa is a singer/songwriter who was signed to RBW back then. Yes, eSNa is pronounced Es-Na. eSNa co-wrote the music for Piano Man and wrote the lyrics and/or music for a number of MMM's early songs. She wanted Ahh Oop! to be her debut single but RBW talked her into doing it as a collab with MMM. It turned into drama when RBW caved in to the nasty comments about eSNa when they started promoting Ahh Oop! and removed her from the live performances. She quickly uploaded a response vid called Ahh Shit! and left RBW after releasing an album with a solo version of Ahh Oop! She's probably still bitter about RBW but she and Mamamoo have remained friends. Piano Man was released a few months after Mr Ambiguous in 2014 as the for once actual title track of a short EP called Piano Man. Ahh Oop! was on their 3rd EP Pinky Funky along with title track Um Oh Ah Yeah in 2015. 1 CM was a pre-release single from their first full length album Melting in early 2016. Melting is a certified masterpiece and includes their first #1 hit, the title track You're the Best, which is also their first song that scored wins on the tv music shows. The title is a funny way to express the progression of instant responses to seeing a hot guy and falling for him. The MV seems like wacky fun & gender games at first but when you start asking questions about the sexual harassment and drink drugging it becomes clear they're satirizing male misbehavior by invading male bodies and spaces and flipping the sexual misconduct script.
