Chris, I can totally relate. I had a spot on my ear so went to family doc as a normal checkup & he referred me to a dermatologist. Once she looked at it she was pretty certain it was melanoma so they did a biopsy & sure enough the results came back as melanoma. At this point it was at least stage 2 because it was under the skin layer so I had to go get a test done to see if it had spread throughout my body. I was a flipping nervous wreck the week waiting for the results. Luckily it hadn’t spread & had to go get it surgically removed. Was a pretty intense process. What I wasn’t expecting & didn’t think of is what my ear would look like after the surgery. Dude, she took half my da gum ear off. It freaked me out the first time I took the bandage off & looked in the mirror. I was like I am never leaving the house again EVER. Well, that lasted about 3 days & eventually had to get use to it & now it’s just another battle scar. I wear sunscreen constantly now & go get full body exams every 6 months. This Kody B btw. Preston’s cousin. My dad is aunt Connie’s brother.
