My husband died unexpectedly, when my daughter was only 8 and my son was 6. I raised them on my own. When she married her heart's love in 2018, we worked hard to make her special day a memorable one. Her brother, all grown into a handsome young man looking so much like his dad, proudly walked his sister down the aisle....there was so much love and pride in my heart, that day. For her daughter dance, she decided she wanted us to do a mother/daughter song. We chose to face each other, sway to the music of Alison Krauss's version of Baby Mine, and "signed" it to each other in ASL. I signed "baby" and she signed "mama". They recently bought their first home and got a beautiful puppy and are happy, together. Those kids were the greatest gift of my life.

I've always wanted to hear the mother's version of this song, since there was no father in the lives of my twin daughters. When one got married I wish I could have sung this at her wedding.

It's lovely how versatile this song is. A mother could also sing it about her son to her daughter-in-law. "First" doesn't quite rhyme with "his" but close enough. I'm going to have to learn how to sing before my son gets married!

The mother Made cry hard.Let me tell you why.I lost my grandma My pap my God Father who is very close to me.My uncle and None of them will be at my future wedding in person and yes I know in spirit they will be.I plan to do something special for them.I am deeply upset because my grandma and God father where to special people I wanted at my wedding.Idk why The mom made me cry hard.I miss Them deep and I am sorry if I made anyone who reads this cry.I don't know why but the moms voice touched me harder then I thought it would.
