Hello my loves - today I'm sharing how you can live debt-free, build a "good" credit score, pay off credit card debt, how to choose the best credit card, and how to pay off student loan debt without damaging your credit score. Kudos girl. You're a wise woman at a young. You're likely on the path of wisdom and wealth. At 25, my credit was toast. I had 13 credit cards nearly at the limit. The key to good or excellent credit is using no more than 30% utilization per card and timely payments each month. Take it from a person that had ten credit cards at the age of twenty, which lead to multiple bankruptcies, IRS garnishment, and Student loan defaults. However, after following useful credit tips for many years. My current FICO scores: TransUnion 825, Experian 810, and Equifax 811. However, the TransUnion has been 885, then I paid off a car loan, which dropped it to 838. Due to the lack of diversity in the types of credit. And don't open too many lines of credit, because DTI is a % factor. Also, payment programs and arrangements are useful tools.

Congrats ... but just like banks I’m not impressed with credit scores what does that profile look like someone with 1-2 credit cards with 500 limits can have a 786 credit score in 1-2 years & even tho the score is good the profile is trash 🗑 lenders will consider that a thin file & will deny you like you had collections & late payments & wouldn’t touch you with a 10 feet pole 🏃

I'm glad you brought this up, Shawn. The range of our credit portfolios IS an important factor. I briefly mention the importance of a credit portfolio in this video and explained that young people in their 20 somethings usually have a portfolio that is not diverse. In my portfolio, I currently have four forms of credit streams on my record and quite a bit of credit availability(limits). This includes a car lease, loans for college that have been paid off, two physical credit accounts, as well as an online credit account. This video is specifically for recent grads and people in their 20s who need a basis of credit. For many of us, this is the best we can do at this time. Do you have further insight on how we can improve our relationship with credit? There are many other incentives for people in their 20s to having good credit other than getting loans from lenders. I've gotten better deals on apartments and my car lease, and I'm eligible for credit accounts with incentives that are more beneficial to me.
