Unfortunately the end of the world is approaching closely according to the prophecy of the Bible. It could be one of the signs. Jesus is coming back & you want to be ready for it. There's more deep down things we need to know about, such as eternity. It's not all about matters of our lives on earth. Seek the truth in the Bible. It will tell you everything you need to know. Nothing on earth is a coincidence, but God is in control. The low rates of some countries is not the only issues, but there are more problems & hidden issues ahead of us that God warns us thru the Bible. Dive into it & prepare before it's too late. This world is in big trouble being separated by its Creator. Jesus is the only hope for all mankind.

Our man here reminds me so much of my best friend in latter elementary school. His mother was ROK and when I would stay over on the weekends with them she would give us fun assignments communicating in spy ways and such, and told us about the evils of communism. We lost contact before our teens as his father's job required them to relocate. I learned so much from them and miss them dearly. The most best friend I ever had and I am old.

I agree about this issue in Korea. The teachers now are starting to get laid off because there is no children to educate at the lower grades which will increase as the children start going up through the schools. Korea will have to bring people in to work from other countries or companies will need to outsource overseas which Kia and Hyundai is starting to do now. The men will need to leave Korea to find women because men are normally prioritized if they are the first child. Look at China 300 million more men than women. China finally figured out that men were dating other men because there were no women or escape China to find a women so they allow 3 children now. This is so serious and the government of Korea needs to gut everything. You need 2.1 children as a country to offset because things happen and you might lose a child which is just reality. Also Kdrama and KPOP is not helping all this mess. It might seem like it's helping but watching the Krama's I can see why no one has kids. Prioritizing education/work over family creates a more robotic society than a family oriented society.

South Korea worked economic miracles and transformed one of the poorest countries into one of the richest. Now it needs to work a social miracle. How can you encourage young people to have children? This needs to become an urgent priority. But it is an economic issue as well. Having children needs to be affordable and workplaces and society in general need to redesign completely away from the attitudes and systems that were in place in the fifties and create absolutely family friendly, even family first, environments.
@hyhhy
@hyhhy 20 күн бұрын

Wherever lower birth rates exist, the move from agrarian to industrialized society is a key factor. Farm families typically had children because they were cheap labor and played an essential role in the family's economic success. As people gravitated toward cities, child labor was no longer needed. In fact, too many children were a financial burden. Parents therefore made an economically sound decision to have fewer children. In hindsight, the desire to rapidly push toward industrialization was too intense. The few that got rich paid more attention to their revenue stream but looked the other way when economic viability was threatened.

WHich is why i suggest a mass move OUT of the cities by the youth. SImilar to the Cottege Craft movement in the US a century ago. Build orchards, farmlands, specialty agriculture, etc.
@italiangm1
@italiangm1 14 күн бұрын
@@ArielaShines Sounds good, but difficult to execute. The greedy rich are still driving government to spend big $$ on big cities, so where will the $$ come from to incentivize such a movement? Young folks don't have the $$ to lease property let alone buy. Unless seniors with savings grouped together to finance it, a huge shift in mindset would be required to make this movement happen. The greedy rich will resist, forcefully if necessary.

@@italiangm1 Reetirees or mid life changers from the USA might help. With enough capital it is possible to start with like an herb pfarm,and specialize, then do vertical an horizontal grown into other crops. Orchards though, that this an undertaking. Government grant maybe? Yes, corporations will probably fight it, but if it means more population, then they have an incentive to help, not pull back. Have to show the long term impact. Sejong City was a great idea just a few years before its time. Also, is a city model what is needed or a suburb model? So many questions. it would apply really to any industrialized nation with birth decline.

Great and informative video. I think it's important to look at the causes, which we all mainly know is cultural, societal and of course the economics. The massive technological advancements (of course the fear of AI replacing many jobs) also plays a huge part as by consequence creates a more introverted and anti-social society (people who are more likely to lock themselves in a room enjoying the fast internet while only go out to buy groceries or when needed, as well as being addicted to corn which limits their chances of meeting someone and increasing the birth rate). There's also the education sector, as we all know, Korea's education system is very very highly competitive (like most of East Asia) which results in high 'S' rates due to the rigorous and depressing setting (bullying, cyberbullying and high expectations from parents that burden the students) of most schools. You can search the statistics of all these factors yourself for a more thorough and in-depth research. It's very interesting to see how completely different factors affect birth rates. South Korea is a mixture between a Confucian society and a Western society. It's easy to identify the many problems, but what are the solutions? 🤔 There are probably countless solutions but it all depends on if the government is willing to take the initiative (remember that governments never really do anything until it gets really really bad) as time is of the essence. I read somewhere that the Korean government is giving out passports to foreigners with stable incomes in hopes that they would live and marry a Korean man/woman, I want to hear your thoughts on this from a Korean perspective, do you think the government is doing the right thing? Do you think that Korea will lose it's homogeneity? Do you think it's ok as long as the foreigners are educated and come to Korea legally?

So women in mid 50s can have children. 2) can you have a mass migration of youth out of cities, like a movement, to agriculture and farming sector, and repopulate SouthWest Korea? Orchards, fishing etc.

Birth rate measures the number of births per 1,000 inhabitants in a certain period, typically per year. The fertility rate, on the other hand, refers to the average number of children that a woman of childbearing age (usually 15-49 years) has in the course of her life. South Korea is 5. in lowest birth rates, and 1. in lowest fertility rates. Best wishes from Austria, those rates/numbers are not much better here.

Everybody wants to and tries to go to Seoul for work because all the jobs are centered in Seoul. So let's say the population of S.Korea became 20 million in the future. The population of Seoul will still be 10 million and the rest of the country will be empty.

it's a very interesting topic. It relates to all the world as well as fertility rates are dropping fast and Elon Musk even said many years ago that the world's biggest problem is population decline. People do not realize it but while the population of the planet continue to grow to 11-12 billion by 2100, it's only because people are living longer so that is why the numbers are going up for now...but once the lag catches up, the population will decrease so rapidly it'll come like a thief in the night and the world won't realize it until it's already too late. But there is a different theory. By 2100, the world will have changed so much that we won't need many people anyways. Nations will turn into corporations and automation, ai, robotics, neural link/brain net, cloning, genetic factories will change everything and the world will function on just 1 or 2 billion or even less without a problem. But we are not there yet. It's going to be really bad for long time before it gets good. Halving the world's population is going to create chaos anarchy and disorder as systems fall and societies lose their footing but only for a while until we adapt the new world order which will not need many humans.

It’s always interesting to see how the refusal of political leaders to actually SEE a problem in order to fix it causes the problem to get worse. We have the same lack of problem solving in the US. Women here feel less and less safe or comfortable to have children here either. But because we continue to immigrate people, our population can still grow. Korea does not have an easy path to residency or naturalization for non Koreans. So if Koreans aren’t making babies, there will just be no babies. There are options that can be taken to make the environment better for women, for families, and for workers, but it would take a shift in mindset and culture that I’m not sure the population would really go for. This is also the same in the US. They could also make the environment better for women, for families, and for workers. But if it doesn’t make life better for Congress, they won’t make it happen. 😔

@omari2306
@omari2306 Ай бұрын
I think the change would radicate in the fact that more moral and ethic values where shared in Korea in educational institutions, this would change the birth rate by far. And why is that? Well in kore most youngsters arround the age of 20 and 25 go and hang arround clubbing and have no manners with girls and the same goes for the girls, in fact if you count the body count of Korean women you would be shocked, they only have sex for pleasure and not for love/romance and function (wich is to make children). If ethic values where taught to them from an early age they would consider marriage even more in their late age and even would desire it. Something's gotta change!!! Much support from an Amazigh of North Africa my Korean brother!

Right, there is a 10 year difference but the difference is very large here and that 10 years can't account for the differences you show. 8:50 Expert says your population will go down to 40% in 75 years. 그차이들이랑 모르겠어요 I suggest most people don't really know what will happen. Japan went through the same thing, same fear on top of an economic crisis, result: Japan is still alive and kicking.

Don’t worry, mate. There will be lots of AI robots doing jobs, so after some time there will be universal income. This will create opportunities to have more kids. Also, in the US and Western nations, they are taking in lots of refugees and immigrants. They are even letting in illegal immigrants. You guys could do something similar as well. Japan has breeding visas; you guys could do something similar. You have to fear Kim Jong-un more than your population.

A surface area of Earth (without Antarctica) is 135 000 000 sq km. On Earth live 8 mld of people. Average density of population on Earth is 59 people/sq km. South Korea has density more than 500 people/sq km. It's almost ten times overpopulated. How do you know that current count of people of S.Korea is optimal (be worried its decline)?

Yeah, it might happen, here in Poland they are taking in bangladeshi, ukrainians, pakistani to work hard labour at factories, etc. Nobody wants to take jobs there and the birth rate here is quite low. Koreans will have to take people from poorer countries to make up for work force eventually. Then people will get mad about migrants, because they're there to do jobs they don't wanna do, same old story.

Whatever, the consequences will happen after us. It also will happen gradually, just a graduall population decline, nothing bad. It is definetly not on the brink of disappearance with the population of 50 million people it will require thousand years to dissappear. Yes, population would be poorer, definetely, but it will happen gradually and just instead of Korea need to invest in more promising countries. In Korea the poorer pop will become the more babies it will have. So all is balanced.

I’m wondering if a taboo, shyness, uncomfortableness about s*x is a factor in S Korea’s low birth rate. I only say this because there are many poorer countries that don’t have a low birth rate, or at least not as severe of one. Rationally it seems like there HAS to be more factors than just the cost of raising children that’s contributing to this. People in every country have to make financial sacrifices to have children, so why are people in S Korea seemingly not willing to make those same sacrifices? Is the competitive nature of people in S Korea so important culturally that people are willing to risk never having children in order to “win” the competition? This is a very interesting, but also tragic topic.
