I’ll say one thing. As a young women who is currently going back and forth with my significant other about bill splits, this type of ideology is what I should have subscribed to because why am I having to hear the man I was with for almost 10 years and someone who I have my first and only child by complaint about having to pay most of the bills when I’m already busting my behind trying to provide my half. NO! See if I had this type of attitude life would have been more of a breeze for me. AT THIS POINT I condone women like this because at least they’re not signing up for a life of struggle. I’ve always been the “down type” that never judged a man from his pockets, or expected a man to pay my way, but now I wish I did because it completely sucks for a man to get upset with you about him being a provider, something that the great maker created him to be.

There's people who have less and would love to have even a fraction of what they have! I agree with the lady at 10:20; a woman should have OWN money and not be a dependent to man for his. Edit: Don't get me wrong, love doesn't pay the bills! It never has and it never will! Love alone ain't enough! It's one thing to be in/want to be in a relationship where you're partner is financially secure because who the hell wants to be with someone who doesn't have money? A person who can't even pay for the first several dates? A person who can't pay the bills? That's understandable. Its another when you're in said relationship for money ALONE and nothing else! If I had to choose between two guys, one with decent look and money vs. one with decent looks and no money, I'm going with the guy who has money. I never said he had to be rich. He does however, need to be financially secure! And women need to ALWAYS have their own that their partner knows NOTHING about JUST IN CASE she needs to leave! As beautiful as that sounds, "love" is not a deposit. Maybe a motivation for someone to get shit done... possibly. But a tangible object that actually functions logically in society, absolutely not. That feels extremely juvenile, as the last time I thought like that, I was one. As an older, married woman now, our "love" plays zero factors when we're sitting down at this table paying bills every month.

There’s NOTHING wrong with not wanting a broke man. Broke men come with insecurities, they’re inadequate in every aspect except maybe sex, they are miserable because they can’t provide, they’re also resentful. Leave broke men alone if you want to keep your sanity. I also think men should leave women alone that are not self sufficient without them. A dependent liability for a woman is also a turn off.
