Welcome back! When I got my blue tongue last year, Reptile Mountain was my single most important source of husbandry information. If you never made another KZfaq video, it would still be an extraordinarily valuable resource. But I'm delighted to know that, at least occasionally. you'll be sharing your knowledge some more. Thanks for all you've done....and all you do!

What happened to the new video😢 I found your channel maybe 6 months ago and love all your blue tongue videos. Super informative and love that it’s evidence based and not just opinionated. Whenever I search for blue tongue your videos pop up. They’re one of my dream lizards, I just don’t have more space and time to get one now but I am consistently searching for new information so that when I am ready to get one, I will be 100% ready with all the info. I hope to see a new video from you soon❤

Theres so much bad information and advice out there, thats delivered with a kind of confidence that people tend to believe. With you its all fact based that can be verified...and the hobby really needs that. YT has its problems, but it is great for reaching lots of people who really need good solid info.

I’m from New South Wales aus and I have gorgeous eastern blue tongues that would you believe it, COME INTO MY HOUSE everyday. I don’t know how they get in, but we have a floor board up in the kitchen low to the ground outside and I think maybe that’s how they do it. I love your channel and watch it a lot and kiwi and this update I just got to had me thinking of my eastern visitors and I have a question for you. Basically, I know they prefer to be alone, and yet I saw two adults in my dark kitchen at the back of the house sitting next to each-other at the same time. They would go from the bathroom back across to the kitchen and then into the dark part of the kitchen and sit there. We have some old cabinets in the kitchen we don’t use as the house is in a mid renovation like state, and we’ve seen them pop their heads out of that too. So I know we have at least three adults that live at our place. We have a long big open grass backyard, and I wonder if they shelter and look for food in the house (we get mice here) or whether they even live under the house to avoid predators out the back? I think they drink water from our bathroom maybe too. BUT this is the crazy exciting part. A couple of weeks after spotting the two blue tongues together at once, and I know there’s at least a third that I’ve counted as being all in the house at once on a very hot day, we saw a newborn (assuming newborn but a very little baby) eastern blue tongue in the kitchen near the cabinets. I know that they didn’t mate that day and then have babies only a few weeks later, although I noticed one of the adults that day was very big and fat and the belly slid along the floor more so than her using her legs almost like a snake and I wondered if she was pregnant. Basically, do you think that she might have given birth to her blue tongues in my house, and why would we have multiple blue tongues together in one territory? Could they mate in my house, are they somewhat more social sometimes than we think? Why would they be together if she was already pregnant if mating would be there only reason? Maybe they simply live in the same spot and just deal with each other. I have no clue but it’s very strange. I also haven’t been able to find any information on where or how they like to give birth to figure out if our place makes sense for that. I just wanted to tell you about my very strange situation as a NSW Australia local in a hot country area for interests sake on some strange wild behaviour or to see if you have any thoughts! Lol. You are looking amazing by the way, I love your tattoo and I hope to see more from you when you can; and I’ll help keep the channel alive in the meantime. I wonder if I have heaps of baby blue tongues running around my house lol!

Your videos are why I have a happy and healthy BTS. I'd love to see a year layer update video on your collection. I've seen you've updated your site for 2022 but everything seems inactive as of 2023. Hello TC. Haven't heard from you in a while. I hope you're doing OK. I have a question that nobody will answer for me and it's driving me crazy. I want to put my northern blue tongue skink outdoors this summer and I'm wondering how much they dig. I have an enclosure that is absolutely huge and I can make plenty of hiding places etc. in it but I'm wondering how much the borough and if I need to somehow block off the bottom of it. I built the enclosure about 10 years ago with hardware cloth underneath it and then a bunch of dirt on top. I don't know if the hardware cloth is still intact or not. And finding out would be a great ordeal because of all the dirt that's in there. So I'm just wondering if you think it would be safe to put him out there. I don't know how much they dig in the wild, how extensive their burrows are, etc. or if they just borough to get under the dirt a little bit for cover. So any information would be great. Thank you.

@@ReptileMountainTV Hey sorry I took too long to respond but what do you mean by change the environment do you mean just mix everything around? And I got my blue tongue off some other people that didn't take much care of him and I don't know what to feed it because it eats the food super quick and I know nothing about him don't know his age don't know if he's wild I just have a lack of information for him. And is there any like big enclosures for that much money that would be worth getting for it because the lizards enclosures is the size it should be as a baby (which sucks) now I think about it that's probably the reason anyways thanks for replying.
@ReptileMountainTV2 жыл бұрын
I mean the temperatures could be incorrect too hot, too cold or the cage furnishings aren't adequate not enough hides and foliage (ground cover) to provide a sense of security, or the enclosure is too small. I recommend at 4 x 2 x 2 from Kages.com (link in description) for adult housing.
