This song has one of the sickest changes. “Motel money murder madness / Let’s change the mood from glad to sadness”
@gillesgrindel7985
@gillesgrindel7985 3 жыл бұрын
If you have seen the video, you would know why this changes this way. The little girl in a hollywood bungalow murdered by a psychopath would not match with the music as it was at the start. This song is about hundreds of thousands young girls's destroyed dreams by this city which promises so much and offers so few, hundreds of thousands young little girls falled in evil hands, drugs and prostitution. The sickest changes is this one, how a dream (represented by a pretty happy music at the start of the song) can turn in a nightmare in reality (represented by the changes of the music's mood). But as in reality, the murder of a prostitute is shocking when you jus hear the news but people go back to their own business and quickly forget about it (represented by the back to the starting mood of the song). A new little girl full of dream just came to replace her...

the thing about this album is its the final album. It is everything the Doors managed to grow into before the end. In a late interview Morrison commented that he was really into Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin. So no doubt that is the type of sound you would have heard from the Doors going into the 1970s. Morrison also ran with Iggy Pop a lot so i really like to think he would have hit the punk scene in the early 80s

The Doors in case you never looked them up consisted of Jim Morrison, the poet laureate of the group and a strong and versatile singer, Ray Manzarek, the best rock and roll keyboardist in rock history, Robby Krieger on slick lead guitar and James Densmore on bomping drums, with studio musicians on the bass. HazBruv: All Doors songs are legendary because this band was comprised of 4 geniuses. Jim Morrison was THE prototype rock-star-of-all-rock stars whose rich baritone voice & primal screams have never been equalled. He could do it live even better [I saw them many times]. Ray on keyboards could improvise as well as any jazz maestro. Robbie on guitar had been trained in classical Spanish flamenco & is a virtuoso. John Densmore the drummer was a natural rhythm machine before electronic drum machines or computers even existed. Add to that Morrison's study of poetry & classic literature such as Greek mythology & French existentialists that gave him ideas for the unique lyrics of all their songs. Plus Jim looked like a Greek god[although he was a classic Irish crooner]. Jim graduated from film school @ UCLA & knew how to stage an act & work a stage. Thus a perfect storm for Riders on the Storm.

First album, every song is a must listen. In particular, you won't understand the band until you hear "The end'" Also try "Back Door Man." Want hard-core Delta Blues? Listen to "Cars Hiss Past my Window"

supposedly "Mr. Mojo risin" was a code word Morrison had worked out with the secretary of the record company. he planned to disappear, because he was tired of the music scene. if he ever came back that was his code. No-one ever actually ever saw his body after he supposedly died. There lots of rumors out there. There stories surrounding his girl friend, Pamela Courson, that are also very interesting

When they were forming the nand Jim thought of him as the lyricist. They couldn't find a singer and had to convince Jim he could be the singer! What a voice!

This group had a particularly groovy vibe about them back in the day. They became very famous and their singer Jim Morrison could not handle the fame properly. Very sad he died young. But that voice. That Voice is gold.

After Jim's death, the band did 2 more albums. Ray Manzarek (keyboards) went on to produce some of the albums for LA-based punk band X because on their first album they did a cover of a Doors' song.
