Imagine this: a quiet and beautifull house in the snow of providence. The garden is wonderfully decorated. There are lights everywhere on the house. This plays in the house. A huge figure in a yellow cloke and a white mask and a shady creature with three spider legs, two long arms and a strangely formed head approach the door. Hastur "did you remember to pack the cookys?" Nyarlathothep "of course. I hope Kthanid isn't here this time" he rings on the door. A dark blue coloured cloud of smoke with tentacles on the upside and red eyes all over it opens. Hastur "hey shub! Good to see you again." Shub "welcome back. The others have already arrived.". They come in. The house is lovely decorated, the tree (a dead elder thing) is full of lights. Yog sottoth, a dark sillouhette between green spheres talks to dagon, a huge fishcreature. A cloud of darkness and purple mist sits on the sofa and devours as many cookies as he can. Cthulhu waves "Nya, Hastur, over here". They sit down to the table next to him "glad you two made it on time. Cxacxucluth is just done cooking the turkey". Hastur "why are we doing this again?" Shoggoth, carrying a bunch of presents "thought it would be kinda funny. Humans do it every year, and i must admit, its kind cute. Nice to see the entire family together without the room exploding". Cxacxucluth, a huge orange creature with horns, tentacle hands and a christmas-hat with elk-antlers comes in "Marry christmas, my fellow gods. Praise the great old ones". Cthulhu to Hastur "Hope i don't get sockets again this year". A nightgaunt, dressed up like snta clause comes in and holds up a huge bag full of gifts. Family dinner starts. Azatoth eats his part of the turkey, the dishes and his chair. Yog Sottoth and Shub Niggurath talk about last holiday, when they were almost eaten by a bunch of transdimensional bunnys. Cthulhu to Nyarlathothep "really a lovely thing, such a celebration. Did you buy this house yourself?" Nyarlathothep "actually, i just choose this one because the owner isn't home. We'll have to clean up before we leave" Cthulhu, nervously "you mean, we have to make up everything? The tentaclefragments, the pentagramms on the roof and even the desolation that Dagon left in the bathroom?" The bells ring. They start opening theire presents. Hastur "Hey, thanks! A new mask!" Nyarlathothep "is that... Oh, yeah! Its a university diploma! Thank you all so much. Just what ive waited for, now i can call myself dr. Nyarlathothep. " Dagon "aww, how cute, a mosasaurus! Where did you guys get him from? I thought they were all extinct." Cthulhu to Azatoth "here, i even got something for you, grampa" He gives him a little pack. Azatoth tears it open and a big smile appears in the darkness. Its a dreamcatcher

I do quite like Moorcock - the Hawkmoon novels are my own favourites, though. And the Dancers at the End of Time. But for Lovecraftian fantasy, I usually turn to Neil Gaiman.

@NodDisciple1 spheres, domes, and cones are decent examples. the best rule of thumb for it is if you draw a "square" on the shape, then flatten the shape out, your square turns out vastly distorted, then you've dealt with non elucidian geometry. @NodDisciple1 about as wrong as most world maps are when they are made flat. (because the earth is round, the closer a landmass is to the poles, the more distorted they look when drawn flat. For instance, Greenland is NOT almost as big as Africa, even though it looks that way on a map.) so yeah, they are pretty wrong in the drawings. but that's kind of the point anyway that the drawings are supposed to be the closest human approximation of what it looked like.
