Ah yes Tommy. Brilliant way to win a young girls heart. I hope you sing this song to your girlfriend. Some girls won't admit it , but deep down every girl wants to be loved just like that, by a strong manly man. I never heard the original, but you own it, just like almost all of the songs you cover. No disrespect to the Proclaimers but I was never a fan of this song when it came out many moons ago. But this cover revealed not just how incredible Tommy is, we all know that, but what a great track this actually was.

after 3:09 that musical arrangement is getting insane! fanastic! The voice range of Tommy is much wider than the original song so it would have been so easy to just add a few modulations and high yells here and there. But no: he kept the song monotone to enhance the feeling of walking far, and then added the high notes in the background to create the most beautiful musical rocky landscape. So genius!!
