the brilliance of this episode is that the viewer had the opportunity to identify with each character. personally speaking. ellie provided a "body" for one of the greatest songs ever, "here comes a regular" by the replacements. it's brilliant and one of the best uses of music in the entire show.

I feel so seen by Hilarie and what she said about the eldest child and touch. I was actually just talking about it with my fiancé because he was playing with my hair and no one had ever done that before him. And it just reminded me that I remember many weekends my mom taking the time to braid both of my little sister's hair (they're both 8 and 12 years younger than me). It just broke my heart realizing that that just ended one day when I was 8 years old. And now I'm not big on physical touch, I make an effort for my fiancé but not really with my mom. And she'll get hurt when she wants a snuggle together when I was in my late teens and even now as an adult, and I found a way to live without it for so long and now that yearning is just gone. And she doesn't get it and it made me feel crazy but Hilarie (as a fellow Cancer) just made me feel super validated.

Hilarie......when Karen has the baby and they do that where she's with Keith and she introduces their daughter to him......during that whole scene I thought their chemistry was amazing!!

My question is if a lot of the characters back stories in the later episodes are based on certain actors real life experiences. I wonder how Dans roll is played and he should not be named a life?
