This time we'll learn how to say "I'm planning to" / "I intend to" in Japanese.
Learn the differences between つもり (tsumori) vs 予定 (yotei) vs -oうと思う (-ou to omou) vs -oうと思っている (-ou to omotte-iru) vs たい (tai).
We'll also learn the differences between ないつもり (-nai tsumori) vs つもりはない (tsumori wa nai) for "I'm not planning to".
After watching this lesson, you'll be able to make sentences like:
☆ I'm planning to go to Japan next year.
☆ I'm planning to hang out with my friends this weekend.
☆ I'm planning to attend the meeting.
☆ I'm thinking about going to the gym.
☆ I have no intention of giving up.
and more!!!

みさ先生、本当にありがとうございます! I'm very grateful to you! I have watched all the videos you shared with us and I'm studing Japanese with you. Your lessons really help!! You completely coverage the topic and you devote enough time at the lesson. For instance, in internet there are quite a lot of videos like "10 expressions for..", and quickly in 5 minutes they review the topic. You can't learn and study anything from that. I appreciate that you make such long and substantive lessons, that I can really learn a lot, to see the difference, to remember new words and grammar. I can see your improvement, your lessons become better and better (and technically and visually as well). I'm glad that you don't stay at lessons just for beginners and move to other levels, thank you so much!! I'm looking forward to your next lessons and again I'm so grateful and appreciate that great deal of work that you do!! ありがとうございます!

@JorgeMP53
@JorgeMP53 3 жыл бұрын
@@kundi9211 It's from the verb する (plain form) that turns into します (formal speech). Don't get confused by the verb 始めた. In order to make the "I began doing/writing/studying..." grammar construction, you take any verb, put it into ます form, then drop the ます ending and then add 始める/始めます。 Examples: -今日は雨が降り始めた/始めました. (降ります--> 降り始めた): it stared raining today. -3年前に日本語を勉強し始めた (します--> し始めた): I started studying Japanese three years ago. I hope that makes it clear. If you have any other questions, feel free to comment ^_^。

@JorgeMP53
@JorgeMP53 3 жыл бұрын
@@kundi9211 Yes, you're right. The correct sentence would be 3年前に日本語を勉強し始めた。 Sorry, I was thinking about another sentence. PD: if you say 1年間/2年間, you're saying "for 1 or 2 years" so, if you add 前に or から, it would be something like: "I started studying Japanese for 1 or 2 years ago" which, well, doesn't make sense :P xD.

So I'm gonna sum up this lesson, just to see if I could understand, and plase correct for me if I am mistaken.. kono resson wo sookatsu tsumori desu.. *Point one* "Tsumori" and "yotei" have the same meaning which is "planning to" "Yotei"is the noun that literally means "plan", so the difference between them is that "tsumori" shows that the speaker is actually going to do his plan and make some actions about it, but "yotei" is kinda what the speaker thinks about and not really gonna do it. "Yotei" is much used in the work and business matters. They have the same construction: + yotei/ tsumori. For negation: + nai+ yotei/ tsumori... *OR* + yotei/tsumori+ wa nai. (This way of negation has a stronger form the the first one) *Point two* "Outomou": a/ To omou (inf)/ to omoimasu (form) is used when we are not *very* sure we are going to do the plan we are thinking about, like, maybe, I dunno. b/ *Volitimal form* + to omou/to omoimasu is used when you talk abt an idea that came up to your mind suddenly and that can show you are just lying. Apart from this, we have "to omotte iru/ imasu" is more common and used to talk abt plans we thought about previously. "Tsumori" is different from "to omotte iru" because the earlier shows we are *more determined* on doing our plan, while "to omotte iru" shows we are going to do our plan, but not determined to do it as much as "tsumori" Again if you want to negate your statment, don't use the volitimal form. Only use "tsumori wa nai" or "nai tsumori" I hope that was helpful... (btw how to say "thatwas helpful" in JP?)

Thanks for the lesson! I am studying for N2 now, but this is a very useful summary Plus, as always, you give some additional vocab. For example, I only knew the meaning "roll" for ごろごろ, but now I know that it means "chill out", too :) Also, there is a typo in the video at 16:34 (volitionMal), not sure if you will be able to fix it but I just decided to point it out
