It really was. It had a few things going for it. 1. It takes place in present day, not 300 years from now. 2. They had a level of competence up there with Star Trek TNG. 3. The writers would paint the team into a corner at the end of every season and force the new writers to solve the problem. Thus SG-1 had to demonstrate their competence. 4. Unlike TNG they could find new technology and incorporate it into their mission. This changes the basis of the show every year. 5. They could go out and save the universe but still come back in time to grab a steak at the diner downtown or go "fishing" at Jack's house.

It's an very early episode, the Stargate program had just began and they didn't know much about the Goa'uld. Teal'c propbably didn't know about entering through the mouth either, as it's stated that only Tok'ra does this. Goa'old doesen't want to see the fear in the host's face.

What would’ve been a interesting idea is if there’s still several factions of small time Goa’ulds that is still posing as gods and Jaffas that is still loyal to them. Eventually they got to the point where there’s only 1 left that defeated everyone and created a massive following, within the # of hundreds of millions. Given that us, the Tau’ri (Earthlings), had always been a thorn in their backsides, they decided to make one final assault and stand against us where they sent everyone over to try and kill us all once and for all. That would be a pretty interesting Stargate movie if they ever tried to come up with another movie. Because despite us having multiple improved weapons and have access to ships of our own now, having hundreds of their own ships and over several hundreds of millions, if not then potentially over a billion, of Jaffas coming after us, something tells me that even with a decent amount of drones, ships, Asgard weapons and such, we’d still be outgunned and by that point, they WILL have to disclose the stargate program and let this version of Stargate end there. I say this version of Stargate, I meant it in the context that this has nothing to do with the 1994 movie and that was a separate entity if Kurt Russell decided to ever come back to this.

What you just commented, if you stop & think about it sounds exactly like the real time movie we are watching unfold on Earth. Could Christianity or more specifically the Vatican (representing the 3 Abrahamic religions) be = to the large following that you mention to create one final assault, I believe SG-1 was a form of Disclosure given to Hollywood from Majestic 12 to seed the consciousness of the human species to specific ideas of how the cosmos work. That there maybe is a malevolent ai force that is parasitic in nature & overtakes planets & feeds off the consciousness energy that humans are comprised of. Just a thought...

Turned out to be a member of a faction of the Goa'uld who were rebelling against the system lords. Never understood why they were so reluctant to be a Tok'ra host. This thing would rather end its existence rather than force itself on an unwilling host; I'm not sure even I have that much honor. To be able to meld with such a one is very appealing. They didn't want to steal their host's body, just share it. And were willing to double the lifespan of the host. They asked for a lot, but they offered a lot in return.

Ultrasound or MRI? Why not train guard dogs to detect a Goa'uld? We've got dogs that can detect trace cancer in people, I'd suspect they'd be phenomenal at rooting out snakeheads.
@christopherg2347
@christopherg2347 5 жыл бұрын
Well, for starters you need enough infected people to train those dogs. People with Snakes are a bit harder to come by then cancer patients. You also have to asume they can be detected via smell. There was this one Snake on Jonah Quinns homeplanet, that avoided technological detection via some drug.
