If you believe that your relationship was great overall, why worry? We all want instant gratification to help soothe our pain that we’re feeling now. We feel that if we have them right now, our pain will go away. Even if they come back tomorrow, the problem(s) that caused the split is still there. Work on yourself and spend your time being single. Work on becoming a better version that your ex met when they first laid their eyes on you. Let it go and let everything fall into place. If they never come back, then they weren’t worth crying over. Someone better will come along. Why waste your time focusing on something that you can’t control? Focus on what you CAN control.....yourself

My ex reaches out every 2-3 months. Initially, i had hope like most of you, but now i am over the pain and just do my thing and go on dates with new women and i'm in a good place. I never call or text her but yet she never fails to make contact every 2-3 months. Most ex's will reach out for a shot of validation or when they are frustrated or emotionally down. So Craig is right, they will reach out......but it's usually for self serving validation rather than to genuinely explore getting back together. Live your lives, keeping working on you and try to meet someone new if you can. I know you all hope your ex does reach out, but be careful what you wish for. Take care all

My father passed, I found out I had diabetes, and a month after my girlfriend broke up with me. She said her ex is back in the picture, and she hadn't committed to me. She said Im an amazing guy, and she knows Id be there whenever she needed me, but she was vibing it. We were together for 7 months. Ive lost all hope, and the last thing she said was...along the lines of...We will never happen. This is our first break up, everything was fine, no arguements, except I was distant alittle because of the grieving of my father. Wtf?

Star Wars...& Blade Runner in my case! :) My ex & I used to see them together as they came out. The breakup last year was so tremendously difficult but thanks to the Skype coaching with you and Margaret earlier this year, I was able to navigate through and process the difficult emotions in the situation. There were mental health issues in play with my ex, so you guys gave me tremendous insight into many of those aspects as well. Thanks a million!

Feelings do change like the clouds, like her feelings for me changed from "I love you and am still in love with you" when she just wanted time and space to figure things out, to "things have become clearer" and then dating someone else 2 months after the breakup. "Hopefully we can be friends in the future" she says, but she's taken steps to remove me from all social media lol. Aka no we won't be friends, and she probably doesn't want me to see it's the guy she apparently didn't have feelings for and I apparently didn't have to worry about. Women are cold as fuck and only want to work on fixing something until they get a bit of attention elsewhere. Bye 7 years.

I am 100% certain I will never hear from my ex. He's a dismissive avoidant individual. The more I learn about attachment styles especially dismissive avoidant they are able to cut you off, out of their life, and into another relationship in the blink of an eye. They don't deal with emotions and fear any kind of intimacy. I still care for him and have compassion for him. I do still hope some day we will talk again but I'm not letting that rule my life and will continue working on myself making changes to become a happier, confident version of myself.

I doubt my ex will reach out to me. 15-year marriage down the toilet - I'm fairly sure he is a narcissist. I do know he thinks about me twice a month as he's paying alimony to me. I wanted him back for a long time until I started watching your videos. After doing months of research on Narcissism and the other Cluster B disorders, everything made sense. It's all about my recovery, and reinvention now.

For most cases, there’s always a chance an ex will reach out again. But in mine, there is no shot. When he broke up with me back in December, he said he doesn’t typically reach back out to his ex’s after it ends. Since then, he’s hooked up on and off with his ex gf (who he claimed was CRAZY) and now he has a new gf who actually used to serve us drinks when we would go out for margarita Mondays (nice girl but she’s screwed with this guy). it’s been 3 months since I’ve been in no contact but the overwhelming anxiety is gone. So, I can at least say that I’m feeling much better but I’m pretty sure he’s never coming back. Oh well, on to the next.

I had a dream about my ex last night. That he rejected me. We've been broken up 4 months after 6 years. I do hope deep inside that he'll come back. But could I ever trust him again?

I'm really feeling doomed..we only dated for about three months, he turned his back on me. Maybe there isn't enough history for him to feel that anxiety of losing me for good. I wake up with a little anxiety over this. I wish I knew he was thinking about me and I'm not alone. Is it possible that I'll hear back? I've been good about NC..

My girlfriend and I got into a bad arguement and I said "maybe you should be with someone better" she took that as being dumped and I immidietly regretted it, but it was too late. Love you guys when I'm feeling my lowest

I've just had a sane break up where we decided our differences meant he didn't think it would work. I think them being in a failed relationship for 9 years previously scared them from making the same mistake again. They love me but I know they're going with their head even though their heart is still mine. We spoke for a few hours, cried and parted ways. I'm scared they wont reach out, I'm scared they will but not because they changed their minds. It's going to be hard not to run into them too because we go to the same bars and clubs but that has just resulted in them running away from me. We'll see how the no contact thing goes, I have to be strong not to drunk text them. Love is tough.

My dumper ex reached out by text after a month. But it turned out that the reach out was for her to say the final goodbye. No contact was good for myself because it help me heal. But no contact did not cause my ex to get closer to me. The opposite happened. After no contact, my ex became much, much, much more distant. I never ever saw her again.

Things that you never expect can happen. My ex reached out to give me back some of my belongings after 7 months and we met up, so I could collect them. I thought that he would just give them to me and walk away as we had very little contact during the time that we are not together and mostly it was sorting out financial matters etc. He cut me off completely. He seemed so happy to see me and was telling me about his life asking about me, in the end we sat down in a pub and talked for 5 hours! It felt great. The break up was not mentioned. That was 10 days ago and he never reached out after, so I lost all hope now, but…My point is that I would never expect that to happen after the break-up. They do miss you and think about you, sadly it does not equal coming back to you.

Its hard cause my first ex of 2 and a half years came back begging after 4 months of no contact. Even though she said she's never coming back, and she doesnt love me anymore. I did not know I was doing the no contact rule back then. I just got tired and just let her be. I did not want her back cause I met someone new whom I dont want to hurt. And now because of that event, I have this hope that my current ex of almost 4 years would do the same thing too. But IT HURTS SO MUCH cause I know she's different.
