I knew an Islamic Egyptian man in the past that told me rabbits were a big staple of their food diet. So when you said unclean food it had me confused for a moment there. Religion is certainly your prerogative in which food practices that you wish to follow. Personally, I only really looked into it (meat rabbits) after a long hiatus of raising rabbits because of my own health problems. I meant no offence by suggesting them as an alternative food source.
