Nice drive through Boardman, NC, Timothy. The town of Boardman, NC, was founded somewhere between the mid and late 1800s and was named after a pioneering Baptist preacher, surnamed Boardman, who served the area for many years. The first post office in the town opened in 1899. The town was officially incorporated in 1993.

Thanks, Kenneth. A lot of towns and colleges were started by churches. The town of Orrum, which I recently filmed, was formed this way.
