I often challenge myself to make small pieces using only wood scraps or other found objects from around the shop. I call these exercises design challenges. They can range from severe time limitations to severe material limitations, or as in this case they can just be for my own amusement. I made this small handheld mirror from a scrap of tiger maple I had in the shop, an off-cut of walnut, and a small piece of acrylic mirror glass.
