It’s a damn shame that they don’t get more radio play. This song is a perfect example of why they should. Hopefully their new label (anyone know who it is?) will work on that. Yes this song has layers, but it’s still all them.

Kirstin mostly wrote it, which is why she has the lead. They wanted the songs in the Lucky ones to be more personal and usually the one whose story is being told gets to tell it. For example, Kirstin also has the lead in Exit Signs and It’s Different Now, whereas Mitch does Never Gonna Cry Again. It really is very Enya inspired with plenty of layers. Also visually stunning.

Saw an interview and Kirstin said she suffers depression. She wrote this, probably for self therapy -- telling her story in verse!

I know Kirstin was involved in the arrangement of many Pentatonix songs, but this one and Water are the only ones that I know she had the main voice in creating. She really does have a lovely way. Water is my favorite of many of their songs,.

Barry, you've been remiss in not reacting to any of Avi Kaplan's solo work. While his 2019 "Change on the Rise" is a good starting point, I might recommend one or more cuts from his recently released 11-song, all-original album "Floating on a Dream". There's the official video for "I'm Only Getting Started", but for something that will show the beauty of his voice, as well as the lyrics of this original, I recommend you react to "All Is Well", the 7 Layers Sessions video that was shot in a church in Utrecht, Netherlands during his recent European tour. The acoustics of the church enhance his resonance.

It was like opening a little present. 🎁 And yes, like you and others, I definitely heard the Enya vibes. Easy to forget there are no instruments. This was a very different sound from their other songs. I really liked it, upbeat, catchy, and beautiful all at the same time. I loved the sound of Kevin’s clapping. It took me straight to the sound of the clapping in hambone. I like the message of the lyrics as well. So true, sometimes when joy is a stranger and we are too much in our heads, we do need to see through someone else’s eyes. It is during those times when it is the hardest to lean on others. People have an amazing capacity for empathy, a shared humanity. I am so thankful for those who are willing to be there when we can’t see so well ourselves.

Kirstie wrote this one, I just love the message, friends looking out for one another when they may be blinded by something. That entire album is one of positivity and uplifting melodies. ..lovely, now I'll be singing that hook for the next several hours lol. I hope they realize how much joy their music brings to people! I tell that to Cierra every night when we come home and I'm having to dodge deer. "Be my eyes, Cierra!" I need to go get my eyes checked, as much as I hate it, reading glasses only work when you're reading or looking at something close, not for looking for deer. I must have heard this a couple hundred times by now, and I don't think I will ever be over the way they crafted themselves into a damn synth machine. Blows me away all over again every single time.
