That wood is really pretty without anything needing to be done with it. The arcade made out of it looks amazing, so plain yet elegant and classy.

When does an retro teen arcade look like elegant furniture? When Daniel Spies makes it. Gorgeous use of the pixelcade. Launchbox/Bigbox is so much less painful to maintain than HyperSpin, automatically scrapes, no memory leaks, and stays updated. A+. Also, "almost 1,000 subscribers"? You have more than 10x that and growing fast!

What an amazing project again. Love this woody look. By the way I would go for a AMD Ryzen 6900HX or 7940HS. 😄

Launchbox is a no-brainer. I've been using it for as long as I can remember.

Your builds always look so classy and well built. This one knocks it out of the park. Very simple and elegant, I like it, thanks for the video. Should would have loved a build video also for the wonderful ideas you give me.

Your builds are awesome, so much care and attention goes into them. I had a huge hyperspin build that I migrated over to Launchbox/Bigbox. I much prefer it and it was definitely worth the effort.

Love your builds. Have you thought about selling kits of your designs? Ready cut wood, maybe the buttons as an accessory to self assemble.

Yes I have thought about this but that is not what I love doing. I love to build crazy Arcades. And making designs. These I am selling :-)

There is an easier way to set up 1 button power. They sell standard power strips that have a detection port. You simply plug your PC into the detection port and all the peripherals into the relay controlled port that need to be powered on when the PC powers up. Also there are provided 'always on' ports that can be used for things like the monitor that would normally sit standby. I've used them in all of my builds and it really simplified the 1 button power up for me.

A 6 pin momentary switch will also solve the problem of turning on two things with different voltages on at once. Alternatively you can also use a 12v to 5v down step converter and save a power supply , or a usb to DC cable from the mini pc to power the pixel cade / IPAC LEDs .

Just amazing. You inspire me to built one my self, but then again, the tools you have, the experience, it just does not seem to be a case of "just do it". One question, the launchbox / bigbox, will you need to configure game controls? Or is it all perfectly preconfigured? iow do you need technical skills or is it plug and play.
@TheDanielSpies_Arcades5 ай бұрын
Just do it. It is so much fun to do 🙌🏻

Hi Daniel, do you do the laser engraving of the plexiglass with the shaper origin?

How much would you charge for a setup like that if you are commissioned to do another? Or would you consider selling plans for the setup for DIYers?

Is it possible to ad a pay to play option? Payment via coins/tokens, swipe cards, or maybe NFC. Arcade games work as they should and console games get timed per credit.

Would a 4P version be possible in a wall mount format like this?

This is incredible. I am currently doing a wall mount and using a mini PC. And I have been struggling to come up with a way to power the pc on from a button...in the past i used the front IO pins...but these mini PCs dont have them. For the PC itself ( looks like wires coming out of the unit)...are you soldering those wires into the mini pc board?
@TheDanielSpies_Arcades5 ай бұрын
Yes, I solder the wires directly on the motherboard indeed :-)
