As a healthcare worker. The confused old man falling immediately after getting out of bed 50 times in a row is the most realistic thing I have seen in rimworld.

I was hoping with Grandpa's cybernetic upgrades, he'd kick the raiders ass and save the whole colony from the aliens. However, I forgot that he is an 80 year old crack addict so naturally my hopes were brought down super fast when he was in the face of danger.

The moments with Caboose chilling with the butcher while ominous music plays is pure gold.

As soon as I saw Caboose, I had a feeling he would get butchered by the chef. I never knew it would actually happened

I like to imagine that the Gardener is just being enslaved and starts thinking something like "Everyone back at the colony must be having such a better time than me"

holy shit now imagine the story where a crew lands on this planet 1000 years later and finds Grandma

Oh god, that ending is legit heartbreaking. Everyone dead, Doctors just lying on the floor, barely conscious and faintly aware of the music playing, making her feel just that tiny bit better.

I love how Charborg gave Grandpa cybernetic limbs but just left him blind

This sounds like an actual Fallout vault. Not just the premise of the secretly evil old people's home, but of the few surviving members that were kidknapped (especially the cyborg grandpa) being spread across the land to tell this crazy tale. Deep in the ruins you find the chamber and bring Grandma back out and to her husband completing the quest, it's perfect.

What an emotional rollercoaster It's impossible to tell if this was scripted or just totally random, I can see both being true due to Rimworld being Rimworld.

God the ending was like doing everything wrong and getting the worst ending in a telltale game

Shitty AI combined with an expansive moddable world where anything is possible makes the perfect game for Charborg to throw a story over.

The intro was honestly a perfect introduction to the hellscape that is RimWorld

18:25 Rissa looked around her, she looked at her friends, her colleagues, the people that took care of her all shot down. All he had left was the bottles of alcohol and a bed. Everything that she ever cared about was gone, she had no more reason to live. The only thing left for her to do was to make all of the pain end, she wanted the sweet release of death. And finally, when the aliens took over, it crossed the line. Rissa walked through those doors leading to the closest alien, without a care in the world. Seeing all of those people dying killed her mentally, so there was no going back. As she was being shot by the aliens bullets, she could not feel anything, not even the bullets grazing the side of her skull. The only thing left was shame, shame of what she had become. Shame from the alcohol addiction, shame from her rude behavior. She had done so many horrible things in this nursing home, and this would be her punishment. As she finally fell to the floor, she was smiling. She finally did something beneficial for humanity, by removing herself from it. She was finally happy.

"Hey you know what, I just really gotta get something off my chest" "But doctor, you're in the middle of my cybernetic limb surgery. I could die!" "Yeah yeah give me a sec." ... "HEY! YOU ARE A BEAST AND A MOOSE!"

this is honest-to-god one of the funniest videos i've ever seen. the laughs are nonstop. nothing ever STOPS going wrong. every time i thought "well, that's rock bottom!" i was immediately proven wrong by the cruel hands of rimworld fate. rest in pieces 😔✌️

If only rimworld had these sound effects always. Someone needs to make a mod. Edit: The game does have pretty realistic screens, charborg just played it up better. Also he adds other screams on top of it which could still be a mod. Still would love to see it 3 months later, lol.

I can’t help but notice all the times you ended up manually controlling them…but then I remember Rimworld is supposed to be a story generator, so you’re just telling your own little story.

I love Charborg's laugh when it cracks.

The beautiful thing about Rimworld is that it's not a game about having the best or most powerful colony, or even surviving. You use it to make stories that are both fun to experience and funny to talk about later. Think about all the possible outcomes of this colony; it could have been triumphant victory with slim odds, or tragic defeat. I would love to see more Rimworld content. There's also a mod called Real Ruins that lets you build on top of other players' dilapidated colonies. I'd bet there's a way to build on top of your own failed colony, hundreds or thousands of years later, and try to make something from the crumbled stone. Just a thought.

this reminds me alot of fallout so i made a quest i imagine that that you would find the vault either infested with ginea pigs or run by mechanoids and you’d find notes leading you through the story and terminals about the patients, there would be a note in the kitchen where chef repeatedly writes “COOK”. a good side quest could be to find a note from doctor where you need to re-power the vault to get the music back which would allow holotapes to be read and then you could hear about the order to rescue grandma and a note on the dead rescuer from grandma saying she’s gonna try and make it to the cryosleep and to not let her wait. then if you opened it you can try and reunite her with an aging/ghoul settelment trader lastly to find the quest you would need hear word from Gardner

This could be easily get a sequel, and the plot would be someone some how woke grandma up and grandma must rebuild.... I mean it sounds cool to me
