I made a Train with Blender

Күн бұрынI made a steam train, despite not knowing anything about trains.
Roughly in 1/64 scale, inspired by the Sierra Railway No. 3 "Movie Star".

It's possible. Not my original plan, but I did keep in mind that possibility while modeling it.

this is awesome I tried to make a train in Maya before, it was a pain in the ass. Maybe blender is better at making models

Yeah, it's a lot of work, but definitely rewarding. I'd start with a low-detail version, then consider adding more later. Good luck and best wishes!

Question how did you add that photo behind your model so that you could follow it?

Greetings! To add references, you need to press "Shift + A" to open the "Add" menu, then look for "Image" -> "Reference". Make sure to select a viewpoint from the Num Pad before that. You can also adjust the opacity by going into "Object Data Properties" (second to last option on the right). Best regards!

You mean the reference image in the back? I simply typed "sierra railway no.3 blueprints" on Google Images, and that was the best one for the job.

Sorry, I didn't see this one. As I said, I don't know much about trains. I made mine for a future project that required one. I'd be glad to help if I can, but I'm not the right person I'm afraid. Anyways, glad for your request and your interest in my works! Happy new year!
