Nice build. All the paint burning off at the end makes it seem quite dramatic.

Just a tip, if you clean up that pipe before welding it’ll weld much easier, be stronger and look better, cool build though! Nothing like a bit of scrap upcycling!

@@torvusjunction I never thought of them as Intimidating but I guess I have got used to them over the years. That's a Classic Comment none the less. The power you can get out of them is inspirational and when you see it is coming from something as boring as some old Oil, does make one think. Hope you do some more vids of it. I very much enjoy getting to see other peoples builds and what they do with them.

Aaaaahhh, another "grinder and paint" welder lol. Makes me feel better about myself; not because I have any amount of bragable skill, just that I'm not alone haha. I'm going to build one of these as soon as I find a blower. That's the last part I need.

You should try putting waste oil into your plastic distillation system
@kennotrogzeug7012

Waste oil tends to come with other impurities, like simple green, and sometimes small pieces of trash, and I say that having used to work on big boats with big engines. What temperature does the fire burn at, and is it hot enough to decompose any impurities (bits of plastic and soap)?
@torvusjunction
@torvusjunction Жыл бұрын
What temperature? freaking hot haha. It is more than hot enough to melt copper. So i'd day hot enough.

Thin it down and paint or dip wood into it for weather proofing and insect resistance. Dip and soak small pieces of kindling for cheap firestarter sticks. If using as a wood preservative be mindful to keep fire away for a few days :) :D !

This looks cool, but it will but out of commission after 4-8 burns. The iron in the tank will oxidize like crazy, then break apart where the flame hits it with more force. It will be an unfixable pile of rust at that point.
@Pink_Noodle
@Pink_Noodle 2 жыл бұрын
Said oxidized iron could be mixed with ground aluminum from cans and then ignited with a sparkler or other magnesium ribbon if you want a heat source for something. Everything can be repurposed somehow

Great 👍 But I think yo have to made the fuel making Prozess a little bit more efficient, it was nearly perfect but when you make it under pressure and put all the oxygen out of the system with co2 then I bet you get better results ( excuse my English, I’m German and that’s 👈 a Corsa and not a Nova 🤪)

@spencerchristie4000

Bit of proof of concept, could be used in a pinch and the people that would need something like this can cut and weld it up in a matter of hours. Few things my limited brain could see I could hook this up if I needed to make a makeshift forge and straighten a piece of an old frame or something Feed some wet material that needs burned asap at it Heat a big boiler You could use alternate oils as well as reduce the air output to make the life of the metal and oil go further. You could also find a cast iron tank and just drill/torch the same set up using a tapered pipe and distillers paste for torched, and if you have a tap and die you could drill and thread everything.

Bugger all electricity to run that, once the paints gone, that oil is burning so hot, the flame's really clean. Bugger all smell. A waste product is being used to produce massive amounts of heat, people use these for foundry and blacksmithing projects, better than paying an arm and a leg for LPG......
