I'm still kicking around the idea of how to finish it. Right now, black paint & clearcoat is sounding very good. Should show the wood pattern nicely, and I can repair any blemishes down the road rather easily.

Thanks for the comment, and I am glad I was able to convey the intention of the video clearly enough. I actually work on cars only as a hobby, and I make my living spending a majority of my time at a desk and in front of a computer. It is very analytical.

I hadn't really thought if it, but I think I picked up most of my communication style from my dad. He is very good at explaining things logically. I think my voice and speech cadence is different, but the general way we construct our thoughts is the same. Although my family doesn't really have anyone in the traditional client-facing professions (preachers, salespeople etc), your comment made me realize we actually have a lot of people in other communications-intensive professions. We have had a lot of teachers, who seemed to have done a good job at it and had a profound impact on their students. We have a unique family name, and even generations later, when people recognize it, the former students of my grandpa for example would usually have fond memories to share. @@EdBwoy im looking to part ways with my Y50 nothing is wrong with it i have 2 M35's a very very clean 2006 with sport package and every option except rear dvd & a 2008 the 08 is a regular M35 im going to sell the 06 although i like that one the most i know come income tax time it will sell fast i want to upgrade to a M37S RWD or M56S RWD I don't want a regular M37 Or M56 because I really like the aggressive look of the Sport Package im also considering a 2007-2010 Mercedes-Benz S550 with the AMG Sport Package but i know the Infiniti would be cheaper to maintain than the Mercedes

It shouldn't cause any issues if you use a board heavy enough...or put stuff on it. If you put it over the trunk mat, the bottom is cushioned. If you put the trunk mat on it, that's enough weight to keep it down. I don't see how it would be noisy, unless I had very bad suspension with a few light solids jumping around loosely on top of the board.

Plus, the big benefit was that I can drill & have custom fasteners on the board to hold things down.

One thing that immediately jumps at me is something like a piano hinge.

@@Solozworld33 the tricky thing about such impacts is when the body is tweaked a little. Body panels might need a lot of "massaging" to work. Where are you located?
