TARDISes have chameleon circuits thus being able to change their appearance based on where they go. So no you didn’t butcher the exterior of the TARDIS, it just simply changed its appearance because it landed in Minecraft

I love this mod, been using it and being able to just walk to the nether is so much quality of life. The only thing I wish it handled better was minecarts but lets be honest - Minecraft doesn't handle them particularly well to begin with. You don't even need to load the nether with this mod btw, to get your desired effect. There's a creative item that lets you build portals between two of them and they don't need to be across dimensions. I made a cube with the tops and bottoms, and each opposing side, connected portals, from the outside it looks like a cube with a volume of 125 cubic meters but no thickness, no width, and no height, and from the inside it looks like you're trapped inside a tesseract haha. It handles minecarts much better than the nether portals as well as you'd imagine in minecraft.

Remember, the Tardis doesn't always take you where you want to go, but will always take you where you need to go.

For anyone wondering how the whole portal thing works: basically the mod creates cameras on where the portal is created both in the overworld and the nether. Instead of having the normal portal texture, the mod replaces it with the texture generated by the camera. This view is updated every frame for it to look like what it should. the camera moves according to the player's sight making it look like the portal is actually a seamless view into another dimension. I used this principle to create portals in the video game im creating and it's causing a little lag depending on the areas and the details but it works wonders. this is also how valve portals work (from the game portal)

You don't have to use nether portals, but you can use portal frames and light it up. Also there are tons of commands in this mod that you can use to do very fascinating things.

For your future convenience when replacing blocks, I've found that in creative mode if you press the right and left mouse key at the same time it replaces the target block perfectly regardless of whether or not there is a block behind it. I don't know if that's an intentional game design but it quite a handy trick.

Im a doctor who fan and i have to say that looks really nice :D Edit: You can use portal helper blocks in order to create portals that dont travel to the nether. So for example, you can make your tardis in the overworld (all of it!). It also removes the need of keeping the obsidian

I love how mumbo uses a specific time selecting system even though for the old doctor who they literally had no control. Just beautiful

I now sort of wonder, if you can create multiple portals inside the tardis, and have the levers rotate them, so each time the doors open...they open in a new location

Instead of using the nether, you can just use the portal helper blocks that you can make two portals and connect them to get the same effect, but both portals are in the overworld. You can put the interior underground, several chunks away, etc.

The great thing about this is that the portal going to the interior in another dimension is literally the canon explanation for how the TARDIS's "bigger on the inside" feature works

That’s a pretty damn good tardis.given the dimensions required for the doors and portal it is great.of course you could boost the base up a block and surround it with warped stairs to make it more proportional to the real thing but that’s just me being pedantic.I’ve been trying to build a tardis for years in Minecraft and amusingly I did actually use a nether portal into a tardis room inside it

0:38 normally the minecraft renders nether when you are entering the portal and disrendering it when you are back into the overworld to reduce lags, this mod makes that when you are near the portal the mod automaticlly loads another dimention, so the transition is invisible.

I was just randomly thinking about the TARDIS when my thoughts landed on the fact that the "inside" is a different dimension, hence the whole "Time And Relative Dimension In Space" thing. Then, out of the blue, I remembered this video, which I might've watched when it came out three years ago, before I got into Doctor Who. I remembered that you used the portals to make the interior in the nether (another dimension) and the exterior in the overworld. I then realized that your TARDIS was more accurate than I thought when first watching the video, which I thought was so cool that I immediately ran to my computer to nerd out in this comment section. You're welcome. Also, I agree that 10th - 11th Doctor era TARDIS's were possibly the best so far.

I like this. The interior kinda feels like a mash-up of the Dalek bumpy dome of the Tennant/Eccleston Tardis with the construction work yellow central core of Smith's Tardis. As for the exterior... you did the best you could with the vanilla blocks you had. The only real way to get that Tardis Blue in Minecraft would be to add a mod or texture pack with the blocks you needed. The only real gripe I have here is the key system to get in. Opening up the trapdoor on the side to put the key in looks wrong, especially when you could have made some sort of sound based lock instead to open the doors. From Silence in the Library onward all Doctors were able to open their Tardis' with a snap (or click for you British) of their fingers.
