After 2 years of trying different designs, this is the winner. Equipt with USB output and LED lights this thing is super light weight for easy transport to a nearby creek or river.

I love the recap on your journey. Good video storytelling and tutorial. I'm glad you could sleep well that night as a man who has DIY'ed his childhood queries. Can't wait to see your next creations. Cheers!

1:24 "Nice circle drawing thingee from the second hand shop" - so Kiwi😊- I see those in the op shops all the time! Well done on your design, definitely looks lighter than my original usb Waterlily turbine- they've been around for a few years - latest version is a wind turbine too. Not something I would take on a multiday tramp as it weighs 1kg but ok for overnighters and car camping. A small light turbine would be awesome- charge up battery banks overnight while tramping. A miniature variable pitch hydrocoil turbine would be the bees knees!

Nice! Id love to get my hands on one of those water lilly turbines and see how many watts or fractions of a watt they output :)

I bet this could become a popular gadget if it could generate enough power to charge your phone or a battery pack with decent capacity :)

I believe It could, allthough it would take a longgg time at 0.25 Watts! an Iphone with 10watt hour battery would take 1.7 Days to charge.
