REALLY ! What is up with door prices these days ? I was floored when I went on Amazon expecting to grab a full size RV door for under $200 but the cheapest one was $650. I know everything is sky high these days but doors and windows for RVs are ridiculous. I can only guess that since RVing has become so popular recently that there is a bit of price gouging going on.

Had a bad hanger welds on (speed bump 😬) my mid/rear exhaust on my '97 civic with custom tube light weight headers. The flex pipe saved me from. Losing the whole back exhaust and it didn't constantly drag the groundthe 12 miles home...but that 3 1/2" exhaust with the high flow cat and straight pipe out the back mat little civic sound like a Nascar. Now way I could daily it, but it's insane what a few changes can do to the sound. Praise the Lowered 🙏 that flex pipe and that single hanger held on.

I've been thinking of using perspex sheets as a double glazing. I bit like the plastic but the perspex could be bolted on so it can be removed to clean the window. I would use the window foam gap around the edger. I have mostly wood windows, so it would be easier. On Alimuniun windows I think I would drill a small hole and then tap in so I could screw I thread in and epoxi that into place. Or use a dremel to create a few very small holes/notches (like an undercut) just for the epoxy to grip into and then attaching the flat head bolts, Kind of like how these epoxy tests were done in the youtube video titled. "The Ultimate Epoxy Competition--Which Epoxy is the Best?" I would also like to try to add the Silica gel desiccant gels. Described in Big Clives youtube video called "Silica gel desiccant showdown - normal versus crystal cat litter" NZ building standards sure need to move on from the single glazing system. Thanks for your inspiring video.

I keep finding garden lights on the side of the road. Especially in spring. Just found another that has a 5252F IC. From what I understand. It should have a internal diode or some protection to ensure current from the battery doesn't go back into the solar panel, wasting the batteries charge. That was my issue with the first panel I found. I removed the LED since I only want it to charge my nimh cells. Hopefully I can just leave it in my window to do its thing.
@KiwiMakerАй бұрын
Nice, good luck. a diode would work but it will drop the voltage by 0.7 volts which is probably too low unless you use 2 panels.
@sokoloft3Ай бұрын
@@KiwiMaker If I find that these IC's work well. They're stupid cheap for a 10 pack. I'll probably get some for future roadside panels I find.

Did you put a charge controller box between the solar panels and the batteries before charging them? If not then you will definitely overcharge them and they will expand or even explode and be ruined. Solar panels are powerful lol…

Gee. I was there a couple of summers ago and camped at the MCA PoP just around the corner. We had lunch in the park over the road from the generator house and I was peering eagerly through the cracks in the door and walked all around the building figuring out what was where and would have loved to have had a look through inside. The exposed equipment and horizontal axis generating gear was quite unlike any of our other hydro stations I'd seen- so intriguing, And just the age of it all, quite a lovely old building. We also drove over to the lake and checked out the intake. You could see the whirlpool above it. We also had a swim- it's a really cold lake. A lovely little village and the cemetery down the road has a stand of Big Cone Trees Pinus Coulteri which produce huge pine cones. Great memories.

Nice build. If you don't mind a suggestion...With the side doors, you may consider having the hinge towards the front on both side. With the way you have them, If the doors happen to open up while in transit...the doors are going to slam open and stay open until you noticed them open and pull over to close them. Wishing you you the best with your adventures.

I just bought a 2011 Prius with 26,000 miles. I got a good deal on it but the gas gauge was bad and showed a full tank until it quit on me. I thought it was getting amazing mileage. It showed a “Hybrid System” problem light and it was just out of gas. The tow truck damaged it and it cost another 4500 dollars to repair the damage. It’s like new now so I need to test it out and camp in it. I wonder if people could build something so it could be extended out of the rear hatch to add more sleeping space. Just a bit would help.

It’s counterintuitive but I’m pretty sure I’ve got this right: you said “I could run the pump slower and maybe get the output up to 5 degrees over input” but that’s not really what you want! The rate the black coil absorbs energy depends on how much colder it is than the environment. For radiative transfer from the sun, 25c and 30c are both a lot colder than 6000k so whatever. But the colder the coil is, the less energy it’ll lose to convection and conduction to the air and wood and such. I heat my inflatable with a camp shower and while that’s quite different, the same holds: if you turn the outlet temperature up by reducing the flow, heating gets LESS efficient and takes longer, because there are more losses and the hotter water absorbs less energy from the flame in the heat exchanger. Similarly, turning the flame down is also more efficient since less heat gets lost in the exhaust (though it also takes longer to heat).

Hi good evening, if a powerbank is created from Prius hybrid cell 48 volts, 100Ah. it can be used with a qulity solar inverter which. or the battery will need its own BMS? Please guide me
@KiwiMaker4 ай бұрын
It needs a bms as when its installed in the car it has 1 bms connection per 2 cells.
