I’ll always remember my first time meeting a malamute. I was in the waiting room of the vets, with my dog, and I asked if I could say hello to this huge and very beautiful dog and the owner said yes as she was super friendly. Afterwards, I sat back down in my seat and the malamute dragged her owner off the chair to come and sit by me for more cuddles 😂😂 I was smitten 🥰

Yeah some people are really surprised and intimidated by how big they are. They are strong takes 3 vet techs to cut mines nails. Our last vet visit a little girl was watching him for awhile so I asked if it she wanted to pet him. He's 100 pounds and stood about eye level with her, she even came back later to pet him again. Went to take him to use the bathroom while we waiting a guy was surprised when we meet at the door "D*mn, that's a big a** dog."

That fur being totally dry underneath is amazing by itself. It's evolved that way to keep them warm even when wet and far below zero. When I had cold hands from newspaper delivery, I'd stick then in our Bernese' fur. But even then, it was hard to get to the warmth.

I'm so sorry for your loss ❤, but well said regarding raising awareness. I had a chocolate Lab who experienced seizures. The first time it happened it scared the heck out of me as I had no idea what was happening to her. I'd never even considered that dogs could have epilepsy. Thankfully our vet was wonderful however, and her episodes were very manageable once we knew what was going on with her. She was otherwise as happy and bouncy as a doggie could be, so thank you too for increasing the awareness.

We had a 2 year old labrador who had a seizure at the top of our stairs, falling down the staircase in the process and was unable to walk once the seizure had ended. We rushed her to to our veterinarian, only to have our happy camper bound out of the car, tail furiously wagging and in full use of her legs. She checked out fine, never had another seizure and lived to a ripe old age.

i had a malamute up until a few years ago, and whilst i've gotten over her passing to the extent that i'm not actively pondering it anymore, seeing this girl just brought a tear to my eye; it wasn't her coat or her shape or the shedding or anything like that, it was the view at 4:33 or so where you could see the back of her head, where those dumb little dorito ears stick out of her big ol' head and solid neck, like they belong on a dog 2 sizes smaller i used to make fun of my malamute's comparatively little ears all the time and play with them and bother her a bit whilst i was at it, and while i'm very much not a sentimental guy, i wasn't really expecting to get such a punch in the throat from such a dumb source of nostalgia what a dumb thing to feel sad over, haha, 10/10 dog right there

Not dumb at all. A friend of mine, who digs holes and breaks rocks for a living and whose favourite music is hard rock and heavy metal, mourns his malamute kid every single year, taking the time to visit her resting place any time he can. That's how he speaks about her - his kid or his girl. He thinks of her often, even using the memory of her to keep him going when he needs inspiration. I'm not sure it's possible to be too dumb when thinking of our floof families.

As someone who many years ago owned a malamute, yes they are stubborn. I had her in a group obedience class, the trainer told me up front she would be a handful, overall she did well but the trainer said , we got as far as she wanted to go. The trainer initially said as a sled dog, you want one who realizes the ice is thin and refuses to continue as you life depends on it. She was a great dog, there was a fire station about 6 blocks away, I swear she heard the alarm go off and would start to howl.

When I was a little girl, we had the best dog ever. Her name was Keesha, and she was a Husky/Malmute mix. She treated me like I was her puppy lol... she wouldn't leave the yard without a leash, would watch the kids and keep them out of trouble, and I never heard her growl once in all her 13 years. Bathing her was, indeed, a nightmare. Everyone got wet and I can still smell the soap. We still find her hair all over the house even a decade after she passed. Fly high Keesha-girl.

Nala is a very good girl- but then again, I've only had non-grooming experiences with Malamutes so I'm inclined to think they are pretty lovely in general. Nice to see a groomer get WET- people don't understand how complete an experience bathing a large, coated dog can be! LOL

Is it just me or does seeing the dog in a happy hoody always make my day. It's just too funny and cute. Your video's have helped me groom my own dogs and save a whole lot on grooming costs! Thank you

I can't believe she blew that much coat!!!! But the photos at the end were hilarious! I used to dog sit for a friend whose Aussie Shepherd had seizures. They didn't want to board him because of the stress that would put him through. So whenever her and her husband went on vacation I got house/dog sit. He was the most enthusiastic Frisbee enthusiast, lol. And his sister was the biggest cuddle bug! Miss you, Cobi and Mia!

I clicked this video because the video still contained a dog that looked a lot like my Nala, a very cuddly German Shepherd - and then this girl is also named Nala. And this Nala was also sweet like my Nala, too. So of course I really liked this! RIP my baby ('99-'12).❤️

Beautiful dog. I have developed a deeper appreciate for what you do. Especially when you are 4'9, such a small feame for so many large dogs. I'm also becoming a fan of Nonna. Sweet family and incredable food!

idk why but hearing about this poor girl and the seizures has me emotional and reminded me of my late german Shepard who passed a couple years ago at 7. I remember waking up in the middle of the night and sitting with him through the drool and pee making sure he was ok and didn't hurt himself. Worth every second being there for him even though there wasn't much to do.

Both of my dogs are epileptic (different breeds, lucky me!). Fortunately, one of them is super chill and doesn't get stressed about anything, so she doesn't have seizures often. UNFORTUNATELY, the other one has severe separation anxiety and sometimes has seizures in clusters (3 or more in 1 day). His first cluster went on for 24 hours, with a seizure every 20-30 minutes and I had to take him to the hospital. I thought I was going to lose my mind. I don't expect him to live past 10 years old. He's already 7.
