Having Mara Jade around was definitely something out of legends. There’s a shop in Sasebo, Japan where the owner has met almost all the Star Wars actors and actresses and has a picture of the lady who was supposed to be Mara Jade.

...Zenger's writing is top notch. Leaving little holes in his story, intentionally or not, and picking up the plot threads even seasons later, bringing things full circle as we get to see what happened to the characters we've grown to love. This was a top-tier episode. It was really funny, it fit the story, it even had a wholesome ending. And most importantly Mara was hot :D. I hope we gonna see her again. Maybe with Vader chasing after Luke, trying to convince him that they are good now :D

What's really crazy is... Palpatine's plans for Mara that she mentioned here, sound 100% plausible for Legends if you blend Zahn's unnamed plans for Mara with the Dark Empire comics. Especially considering Palpatine was also a redhead in his youth and would probably want to be one again.

P.S I'm disappointed George decided not to bring her up in the Sequels, it would've been nice to have see Luke actually learn from the past Jedi and loosen the attachment rule, since attachments are the very thing that turned Vader back to the light before his death. Oh well, at least there are the what-if fan fictions that explores those concepts.
