I made the COOLEST Warhammer Objective Marker ever!

In this video I show you how to paint up an Objective Marker from the Space Hulk Tabletop board game. This is possibly the most expensive objective marker in the Warhammer universe. But it is definitely the coolest!
I paint it in a Grimdark style, it is a fallen space marine Blood Angel Terminator. I have had this model sat in my backlog for sometime and started playing a Warhammer Crusade with my friend Simon - check out his instagram here rally_point_gam...
He is playing as the Blood Angels and I am playing as the Death Guard. Within the crusade there is a mission agenda where my Plague Surgeon seeks out a fallen Blood Angel Space Marine to steal its gene seed. This objective marker immediately sprung to mind! What better reason to paint it up - for a special occasion in our narrative campaign!

This channel is about painting converting and kitbashing miniatures for your warhammer & d&d games, Age of sigmar, warhammer 40k games and Necromunda. I will maybe paint Space Marines, Space Wolves, Stormcast Eternals, cities of sigmar, chaos space marines, painting scale models or miniature busts in the future. Pretty good ! 2 things I would add: 1) Some chipping on the armor using black / brown and silver. You nailed the dirt and grime but he doesn't look like he's seen a lot of fighting. 2) The blood Angels Color scheme needs a touch of green for contrast. Maybe a few of the gemstones could be painted green. The way he looks now, he's more like a blood raven. Btw, your choice of music really added to the feeling that he's been slowly withering away for millenia, somewhere hidden on a space hulk, drifting in space

Thanks Dr G! Some awesome feedback! I'll give some battle damage a go I'm future projects. With this one I was thinking that they have become trapped and starved to death or been killed by some Plague or virus (I'm playing as death guard in my campaign) Really appreciate the feedback 👍 😀

If I can give a tip for speed. Using Vallejo Aluminium and a Snakebite leather wash/almost glaze over the top gets an insane gold colour with minimal effort, along with the different tones and colours because its a wash

Killer job! I loved the layered build up that you used to create that lived-in, aged look. It's great how a story can be told with just a bit of grime and oil.

I kitbashed something similar, but used some damaged helmet and skeletons that I 3d printed. But it getting expensive, so I am going to start using recasts in my diorama.

In your other blood angels tutorial, you dry brushed the white on for highlights before using the red ink And this one you airbrushed it. Does it achieve the same look? Which one looks better/do you prefer?

Hi Travis, good question! In the space hulk marine I didn't do a dry brush to highlight the edges as I wanted it to look extra faded and aged. With highlights it would look more striking. I am painting an entire army for my friend and I am using the original guide as my technique, ie I do use dry brush highlights. I think the edges of the armour really do pop with the dry brush method do that one js better. Hope that helps?
