Eyh mate, your videos are awesome ! I have a question, is it mandatory to use a vanish before using the oil paint ? like "If you don't do it, the white spirit while take away the paint" ?

The Wraithknight Seers are absolutely amazing. The Wraithseers are some of my favorite Eldar models, so the concept of taking them and putting that concept into Knights is so cool. Might give one of those a go for my Ulthwé army to have an excuse to put a Wraithknight into it.

I've been following this tutorial and it's worked quite well, except when I use your technique to fix mistakes, the imperial fist yellow looks green underneath. No idea why it's doing that for me. Yours seems to still be yellow, have you experienced this before?
@SlayerMiniatures
@SlayerMiniatures 8 күн бұрын
That is unsual. It maybe that you needed to apply a few layers of yellow to the fixed areas. I'm guessing the grime has stained the white in the fix. If the fix had numerous yellow layers it won't be able to penetrate through to the white. It could also he that you haven't got varnish over the mistake areas? I havent had it happen personally. Hope that helps!

Awesome technique. Will there be a big difference if I paint the contrast with a brush rather than with an airbrush?

Hello Slayer, and everyone else! i was wondering how i can do the streaking grime method without ruining my paintjob? every time i use streaking grime and the reductive method my paint always rubs off, i am very gentle with the pressure and i always vanish my model. Maybe my thinner is too strong or the q-tip are too rough?? i use Tamyia X20-A thinner. i have tried and failed so many times. i've even let my paint and varnish properly cure for over 24 hours before. yet the paint still rubs off quicky. if anyone have any tips or clues Pls help a fellow Warhammer out xD thank you.
@SlayerMiniatures
@SlayerMiniatures 26 күн бұрын
Oh that's lame! If you have varnished and let the it all dry then it must be the thinner you are using or you are being too rough with the tips. Googling the thinner I think it must be that. You are using an acrylic thinner the chemicals in that are clearly dissolving the varnish and paint. For the grime and oil wash stage you need to be using white spirit aka mineral spirits aka mineral turpentine. Its used to clean brushes used in decorating. It's super cheap and evaporates quickly which is why it's good with oils. Hope that helps

Would a coat of Agrax Earthshade be a good alternative to the Streaking Grime enamel?
@SlayerMiniatures
@SlayerMiniatures 26 күн бұрын
Agrax can't be cleaned up so it wouldn't work the same at all. The gw washes also leave tide marks and stain the paint underneath meaning you need to tidy it up after. Which what I did...imagine you have thrown mud on the model and are washing away the areas you don't want to have mud. Using agrax is like throwing dye on the model and trying to wash it off. It won't work as the dye will stain the paint.

Been buying Games Workshop products since 1985. It wasnt until I charged 20 Wraithguard with 80 Khorne berserkers in the summer of 2000 did the idea hit me: 'Man I want an army of these guys!' ....that was back when there were only 3 different posed Wraithguard and the metal miniatures cost £8 each. I didn't have much money then and only acquired 3 of them. But I've always wanted to be able to field a full force. Watching your video has once again inspired me to bite the bullet and try to do a complete army of them. 👍👍👍

@@SlayerMiniatures Yes they are very enigmatic and cool!. It was how quick they took my Chaos army out was what instantly switched me on too! Wraithlord Bright lance took my Chaos land raider out first shot of the first turn. Wraithcannons decimated my line of Berserkers and once I got in I thought I would have success with 4 attacks each. Wraithguard had strength and toughness of 5 in 3rd edition and only ONE ATTACK, but I struggled to wound them and they wiped me out in two rounds of combat. .....I was instantly converted! Lol. They are a fantastic unit now in 10th. ...Like I said thank you for the video I think it will inspire a lot like me who have toyed with the idea for ages to run with it. 👍👍👍
