It's impressive that Val managed to get most stylish despite his handicap. Being French isn't easy, but he really proved to the world that one can be stylish AND French.

I love that this challenge basically embodies the lifespan of a speedrun. From the slower, more careful runs starting out, to the more dangerous strategies being used, to even categories being split because of differences between runners settings

As the person who came 2nd on the Hard Mode runs, I can safely say that this challenge was so fun! Congratz to everyone who participated! Never make me do this again, Doug.

This was much fun to play, never really did anything to do with speedrunning before this. Seeing the style runs after a week+ of torture was a nice way to relax. Just the hard/easy runs by themselves looked difficult enough but the style competition really had some titans. Unknown cat is absolutely cracked, but the vr and dump truck was insane.

the rubiks cube by itself isnt super hard, but doing the challenge one handed is definitely worth giving props, especially while also doing the cube, since you have to recognize the patterns and pay attention

I can't believe there wasn't a single submission where someone just went outside in real life LA and walked the course (Or drove it or something)

I feel like Doug should have saved the VR run closer to the end. It was like starting out what was the most insane run possible, up until the point where the guy played with one hand while solving two Rubik's cubes with the other.

Coconut should have waited to submit his 1:16 run. Once he submitted it, he did half the work for anyone coming after him. All they then had to do was submit their own runs using the optimal car and route that he gave them at the very end of the deadline like a last-minute bid at an auction so no one else would challenge their time. Little did they know, several of them had the same idea and Coconut got roasted. lol

Honestly, the style mode entries were WAAAAY more entertaining and interesting than the main legit runs.

I always hesitate a little bit before clicking a Doug video. Because I fucking know that at the middle of it, it will turn into something related either to friendship, love, divorce, cheating wifes, money, Doug getting cancelled or fired, screenshots... basically everything but what the title says. And I wouldn´t be able to stop watching the whole thing.

Man the submissions were impressive but the STYLE ones???? every single one of them I went "holy shit man THIS one should win"

This challenge with the toreador being used and the immaculate speed from each run reminds me of the last campaign event in Flatout 2/Flatout Ultimate Carnage where you have to use the batmobile to race through a city and a mall far enough to get gold before the bomb inside your car goes off. The sheer perfection and speed you needed in that event really reminds me of this.

Even though the vr one wasn’t the most difficult I still think it should’ve won for style. It was just so cool.

The main reason why the Toreador became the vehicle of choice for this challenge is the fact that it's a Short boost Rocket vehicle. In GTA, there's three subcategories of rocket powered cars - long boosters (Rocket Voltic, Scramjet), Short Boosters (Toreador, Vigilante), and Arena War (all of the Arena War vehicles). Short boosts may have shorter overall boosts than the Long boosts resulting in lower top speeds, but the boost recharges sooner, which keeps up your average speed and allows you to boost more often. As for the Arena War cars, their boosts are too weak to be relevant. The Toreador in particular is chosen because it's smaller and has better handling than the Vigilante, which drives like a rocket powered cement mixer. However, the Vigilante is slightly quicker than the Toreador, owing to better acceleration out of boost and a higher top speed with it, so in theory if the competition went on for long enough people would start using the Vigilante.

When you think back to Doug's attempt all of these people are just flexing on him.

The minecraft one made me think, you actually can control your computer while in minecraft (I don't remember the specifics, just saw that it was a thing). It could have been a "playing gta5 in minecraft and beating the challenge" run. This would have been INSANE (but yeah as much as human is capable of impressive feats I think this is a bit out of reach). Wonderful submissions!

The divorce one woth tboi voice lines was the funniest shit ever. Just watching the chat yell Isaac and typing all those Isaac emojis while other ones were just sad because of the divorce was amazing. The guy who did that is a legend.

I love how at 2:20, one of the recommended videos for Doug is "how to move on from a painful divorce"

God-Shattering Star is a fitting theme for the dump truck run, for that is what you have to be to pull that off.

I could see this being an actual challenge they implement into GTA V. It's one of the more interesting things in the game for a long time. It is noticeable that you have experience in setting up events and stuff with how interesting these challenges are becomming.

Honestly I was surprised that nobody submitted a run where they used the steering wheel controller while in a NASCAR outfit. And using a race car in game. And getting a NASCAR esc thing all around

Impressive, but my favorite out of these videos were the stylish runs, I was impressed with the dump truck, then came the bribe with cookie and then the guy who simply sent a pornhub link as submission, but mad respect to the guy who painted while playing

the hollow knight speedrun was actually the 112% abs rad% speedrun, meaning we had to beat the game and then beat every boss in a boss rush and beat one of the hardest bosses ever made, so 8 hours really isnt that bad imo and its very impressive
