I Need To FIX What I MESSED Up!🤦🏼‍♀️ Van Buren SP (Super C RV Maintenance Tips!)

In this episode of Wandering Wagners we do some RV Maintenance, like oil change and teach you how to properly inflate your RV tires to the correct pressures, along with tank cleaning. We did some Upgrades with our Air ride seat and their seatbelts, and Lynn tries to get some Redemption and backs into the SAME campsite where she got our Nexus Super C RV STUCK over the Winter.
We start by doing a basic oil change on our Cummins 6.7l engine in our 2020 Nexus Wraith 34W Super C Motorhome. ‪@NeXusRV‬ ‪@cummins‬ ‪@Internationaltruck‬
We used this oil filter wrench to get the oil filter off: amzn.to/45fnlCg
Next we share with you how we check and inflate our ‪@continentaltire‬ on our RV to the 'correct' pressure, although we kept ours slightly higher than the chart says. We first weighed our setup at the ‪@CATScaleCompany‬ to get the weights from all of the axels, then divide it by number of tires and go from there!
Next we did an upgrade to our ‪@seatsincorporated5503‬ Air Ride Legacy seats and added the seatbelt tethers and removed the ones that came from Nexus RV.

We also wanted to give our black and gray tanks a good cleaning so we went to ‪@Walmart‬ and purchased ‪@walexproductscompany3348‬ Commando Tank Cleaner pouches.

Just put a pod in your tank and FILL it up and let it sit at least 12 hours. We let ours sit a few days just because we didn't end up leaving when we thought we would haha Either way they are super clean now!
We then went to ‪@OhioStateParks‬ Van Buren State Park in Van Buren, OH. This was a park where Lynn got the RV STUCK last Winter when she was by herself and had to get the RV pulled out by the State Park Staff. Mike made her back in the RV this time, in the SAME campsite as before to get REDEMPTION! We camped with our friends ‪@FollowingtheFitchs‬ and had a great time!

WOW !! I wish I had a Garage for my old RV, So I can work on it, Looking at your air horns , I used to be a Volunteer fire fighter, and I actually put in my 100 watt electronic air horn & speaker on my other older RV & it was very useful when traveling down Baja, When a Hurd of cows would block the road I would MOO Them out of the way.

Lynn, Redemption is yours! Well done! It is so easy in snow or mud to land in a mud pit, especially with that kind of weight on an axle. So, don't be too hard on yourself. I think the mistake less experienced drivers (I refer to myself) are apt to make is over-correction when backing up. Mike's main tip -- remain between 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock when steering -- will prevent that. Mike's (and your) video on backing / parking a trailer is THE BEST video on the technique I've ever seen! As mentioned in a previous comment, I had an 17-hour road trip with only a 24-foot boat trailer and that video was my saving grace -- no mishaps despite crowed gas stations, mountain passes, road construction. Everyone who tows a trailer or drives a rig should study that video! Thanks!

Hi, suggestion....the seat belt tether brackets, where the mount at the floor, should face the seat side...i noticed yours face towards the windshield. Problem here is it shortens the tether length so you dont get full height when the seat extends upwards, also it takes the twist out of the tether.

He's done all the maintenance himself! Only thing it's been at the dealer for was the DEF sensor and the exhaust brake😁 it's great he's so handy! It felt great to finally get redemption on the same campsite👏🏻🥳 The dump cake was so good and so easy I think Mike could actually make it!😂

Van Buren is a nice park; discovered it Aug-trying Maumee Bay SP this weekend. Nothing wrong with a little redemption…I found your channel almost four years ago when we purchased our first RV (GD Imagine 2970 like your friends)…your “Back Your RV” video is pure gold with common sense principles that work! Maintenance might not be as exciting as traveling across the country but it's definitely important! We like doing the tank cleaning tabs a few times a year and seems to work well for us!

Another great video. Congrats on achieving redemption glad to see Mike is using a good quality oil. I’ve been using the same oil for years and never had any issues I to fill my filters with the oil before I put them on but with my Duramax, I can’t fill the filter completely because it goes on the engine sideways gets a little messy sometimes, but I still put some oil in it. Keep up the hard work we love your videos.

Cummins and Cat recommend not filling oil filters. New oil is unfiltered oil. Get a sample of each done. You would be surprised

As you said Mike. A truck and rv aren’t the same. My 2500 came with 70 lbs all around, when not hooked up to 5 th wheel, it will beat you to death. I dropped the tires to 35 lbs and it’s a WORLD of difference in the ride.

Good old Rotella. I worked for Shell and must have tested a million gallons of it. Actually worked with the guy who invented it at the research lab. Really good oil. I have seen engines when they were tore down after using Rotella 15w40. Looked like they were polished inside.

We are taking a week vacation starting this weekend & our first stop with our 5th wheel will be Ledges State Park after your video a few weeks ago, we thought it looked like a neat place to visit. Leaving from midwest Minnesota so not to far for the first stop, then on to maybe another stop in Omaha, then hopefully headed to boondock at the wall in SD.

Note to Mike, don't drop the drain plug in the drain bucket. Please don't ask how I know. I never thought about that issue with the air rides seats, but man, $1,000 bucks is pretty stiff. I know some of it is for liability insurance for that particular part but still pretty steep. Keep the good stuff coming guy.

I know I'm bustin' balls here but I can't resist. Especially after this sets off all the Keyboard Karens..... But why would you even bother with seat belts in that Beast? It's going to obliterate anything you hit and you may not even notice until you get out to fuel up and find whatever it was splashed across your front bumper and grille. Good video 😊 just saying i think oil change at 5 thousand miles because don't you have 6.7 Cummins and you have Def the egr recycle the soot back into the engine not good you should change fuel filters when you change oil because you do it at 15k you have the smallest Cummins so upgrade to a bigger engine i like spending your money 🤔😀

Some filters fit on engines almost sideways and you can’t fill them but 1/4 - Possibly 1/2 full or otherwise you’ll dump oil all way down your arm. But you’re right if the filter is straight up & down vertically Yes always fill them pretty full before installing. Thank goodness for diesel mechanics 🧰 like yourself. I myself am a retired Trucker so Diesel engines in Big Rigs 🚛 and Diesel mechanics helped me record a few million miles over my career. 😁👍🏼

Honestly we should have done it when we upgraded the seats but here we are haha I don't think the materials are worth that price but we'd pay it again to have this mod/upgrade. We are loving it vs the old style

We have the Legacy Silver seats from Seats Inc. they're semi truck air ride seats. We installed them over a year ago and have been very happy with them!

That’s too many miles. 6000 on regular 15/40. The 6.7 does not do well at extended drain intervals. It carbons the oil bad and sludges up the top end.

They also weren't necessary so if others don't have the money then they don't need to upgrade is the point. They will still have functional seat belts regardless. They uprate things like this as well... It's like buying a cake vs a wedding cake. They're both still cake but one is more just because of the title. I inspect safety and non safety things daily and the only difference is a piece of paper and more money.
