Thanks Mate your comment put a massive smile on my face ☺️ yeah the police man did not have a clue and i didnt like his tone of voice either when he was demanding my name, their is a loophole when police check to make sure you have all the correct info for flying a drone they can take note, have noticed it happening more and more with auditors down south recently, the police had no clue and was telling me i should be buying a laminated card off ebay as if it was illegal that i hadnt, no doubt will be seeing Police again shortly as will now be using a zoom camera especially after that staff member approaching as i used camera for 7 seconds to film the barrier it really annoyed him 🤪👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@@Droneauditsscotland Focus Pocus has a solution to the drone ID problem. Split it & put half the number on top & the other half side or bottom. They won't get it in 1 pic.

Sec 10 Police & Fire Reform & Criminal Procedure Acts. Keep a copy of relevant parts to read to them. Do that, they have no excuse for abusing position.

@@Droneauditsscotland That confusion relates to larger drones if you are carrying out a flight that requires certain credentials to do that operation, for a sub 250 drone you only need to be 13 years of age or older. You don't need a flyer or operator ID as long as the drone is registered to someone with an operator ID. And you are correct telling that sleezy looking cop that you don't get a card, it's online at the CAA site, they do not issue cards or certificates, if you're a member of an association like like FPV you can pay for a card if you want one but not a legal requirement.

@@Droneauditsscotland they are there site ..they have another gate out towards the way you would have came in..its not open for access .they have a brand new building round at that side..pretty high tech inside ..they use the bunkers for testing ..thats why they have there own quarry like bit ..its sand for blast testing .

I have seen Dj audits & DJE Media letting police take a note of their operator ID recently, pure audits did have a leaflet that he said in video he printed off a Gov website so i commented on his video twice and the 1st time he deleted my comment which is very unusual for a Auditor to delete another auditors comment but someone else commented he got lifted in his video that he put down his battery ran out at end, so im not sure if there is a document but if you do come across one mate please let me know j will also reply to this comment thread if i do come across one but when i studied the laws the police Yes can only ask to see your operator ID if they suspect you of a crime but another section of the drone law says an officer of the law is aloud to check you have correct credentials to fly 🤷‍♂️ which would require seeing and taking note of operator Id, until i get such piece of information im just going to have to refuse until threatened with arrest , scottish law is just the same i had to double check that with me being the only drone Auditor up here, we need more and im trying to encourage others to start as right now im a guinea pig for the police up here especially how i go to different areas 😯👍🏻

Yeah i made a few mistakes here and although ive been doing audits for 11 months i was still learning how to deal with police interactions as this was my 1st one they have attended since i started. He had absolutely No clue he even thought i should of had a Novelty laminated card of a random ebay seller by law with my Operator ID on it, but still he tried to Express and pull me up as of he did know 😥👍🏻

There is a loop hole in which police can obtain your operator ID just for flying Drone to make sure you have the correct credentials to fly lawfully, even likes of DJ, DJE have let Police take note of their Operator ID & i have Spoken with another well known UK Auditor on this matter, your right i should not of let him photo my operator ID is this occasional but if a clued up officer on Drone laws hits me with correct section them i and all auditors need to show it, this officer was clueless he even thought i should have one of they novelty laminated plastic cards with my operator ID for Law 🙈 this was 1st time Police actually attended one of my audits so have learned not to give it to them unless they hit me with the correct section next time 😃👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@jimmygodfrey4119 yeah i studied the drone laws and been confused with how the way its written contradicts itself as basically Police can ask you for your operator ID i also found out under that same section they can ask you for name etc but they do need to state under what section of law it is or do not need to provide it , the laws are not written very clear and thats why Police will be clueless on the matter as i dont imagine many will study and seek correct protocols before they are in a situation involving an auditor, unless i get a Police officer who is part of the Drone department or the officer who attends is in direct contact with the Drone team I shouldn’t have to let them take a note of it going forward unless they threaten me with arrest which then is a totally different issue for them as then will look into compensation for them abusing powers, didnt know all this at time but been updated since talking it over with a fellow auditor 😃👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@@Droneauditsscotland There is nothing in that legislation which shows that you have to give up your right to anonymity. The law is clear in this country. There are only two situations when you have to identify to the police. One, you're operating a vehicle on a public highway and two, you've been arrested. You can remain silent and there is nothing the police can do about it. If you say they can search you, they have to have specific reasons to search you, such as drugs or going equipped. Carrying a drone is not one of those reasons.

Not saying they have any right to search me,im referring to them being aloud by law to take note of my operator ID, i was annoyed for giving it as goes against everything, you will see from time to time all other UK auditors letting take note of operator ID. Was also wanting to Police on this occasion to tell of the tyrant business for wasting tax payers money as part of their protocols which involved a member of public doing a lawful procedure but should of knew Tyrants will always side up with Tyrants, this was 1st & only time police have actually attended one of my videos in the year ive been doing it, the interaction will prepare for next one 👍🏻😃

@@Droneauditsscotland get a laminator and print off the various laws. Study those laws and keep copies. I researched this when I saw the foreign copper dealing with PJ Audits. Anonymity is a human right in this country. Don't let them take it away from you. If they arrest you, then protest but allow them to do it. It'll get you a few quid for a new drone.

@Zooumberg yeah ive been struggling to find a Gov or police website that explains the operator ID laws so i can print off and laminate as this is exactly what i need as im being abit if a guinea pig for Scotland as we dont have any other Current Drone Auditors here. If you know any webpages Mate that has the rules stated clearly would high appreciate if can follow link on, went through loads of web pages looking since this incident but most of it to read was double dutch 😯👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
