I'm a nurse in the US (Georgia specifically) & I reallllly enjoy watching all your videos. Working in trauma/emergency nursing I don't get to hear about long term things people go through or this in depth of pt experience. I love your content outside of this stuff too. So sorry to hear this though & sending happy healthy thoughts your way!

It's been just over three weeks since I went in to have a colonoscopy for my ulcerative colitis. During that procedure my bowel was perforated and I ended up with an emergency ileostomy that afternoon (the bowel was in horrible shape). I told sooooo many people (doctors, nurses, friends, family; anyone who came in to my room really) that the reason I was dealing with the whole thing so well was because you shared your experience with the world. You sharing your experience on KZfaq and me being able to watch that content back at the beginning of the year before all this happened for myself allowed me to come to terms with accepting my stoma a lot better and treating this journey with a positive outlook! Thank you so so much I honestly have know idea how I would have coped with the last few weeks without the amazing work you've done!

Hannah Witton. Thank you for your honesty and thoroughness in dealing with and reporting what has happened to you. I agree with everything Myron Speed has said. Your positive attitude is the only way to deal with the nasty bits of life. Decades ago My mother had to have a stoma and in those days everyone shied away from even mentioning it. Sad and a lost opportunity to bond. I'll still be afraid if it happens to me but your videos have shown me the way through any adversity . Thank you again 😂✔👍❤

I know your pain. My kidney was destroyed when a stone blocked the ureter and the back pressure tears the kidney tissue apart. Its “kill me now” pain. The passage of time makes the memory of that pain fade. Good to see you survived with a smile. Sorry you have had to go thru all this...

It sounds like an awful month for you! I'm so glad you're getting better even with the set backs. I also have a chronic illness and it's so validating to hear you talk about your frustration and discouragement. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but since it's out of my control, it sure is nice to know I'm not alone in the sometimes-discouraged club. I wish you a speedy recovery and no more adhesions!

Couldn't relate more re mindset of 'oh this is gonna happen again'. I had my stoma for 2 years and then all of a sudden my small intestine twisted itself ☺️👍 cool. It's called volvulus. I had to have emergency open surgery to fix it and was so nervous for a long time after. It's now been another year and I'm fine 😊 try not to worry and celebrate small victories! I am so glad you have such a strong support system around you, but I also pray for all the people out there that might also be going through this without that support system. I hope your videos at least will reach them to show them their not alone ❤

What a sh*tshow. So sorry all this happened to you. Very glad you’re better now. I remember not being allowed to eat anything for like three and a half days due to hospital stuff and this girl I was sharing a room with constantly dug into her snacks and ate all her food directly next to me. I never wanted to harm a living being but this one had it coming.

I need to tell you that you are so inspiring to talk about this so openly, here! As you were describing the steps of what was happening it brought me back to when I had stage 4 appendix cancer and I can understand different elements of what you have gone through! You show your bravery in these videos, there are many lows in this process so when you hit a high it feels so great! When you were discussing the NG tube and using the sponge for any type of moisture, I know that is an amazing feeling to get anything!! You have a wonderful attitude about this whole process and I can tell you are a strong person to get through this!! Again thank you for posting this and hopefully many others will be inspired by your bravery!!! This experience has changed your life, but you are a going to be stronger because of it!!! Thank You for sharing your story!!!

I was in hospital with a family member when she had emergency abdominal surgery last month and she was the same way! She had not eaten for days and was not allowed to drink any water. Finally she was allowed to have one cup of ice chips every four hours. She was SO AWARE of the time lol. Then after her surgery she was allowed to have liquids and unlimited ice chips. She was so incredibly ecstatic. I kept having to remind her that she could have more and she was so pleased each time.

I’ve had multiple abdominal gynaecological surgeries. Can honestly say that adhesions were the most painful and scary experiences. I knew I had minimal organs left for there to be a problem, so couldn’t understand why I was in so much pain. FYI pineapple juice with mouth sponges is really good for the dryness!

Hey Hannah! Know what you're going through. It's a tough time and big respect for powering on through it! From what you've said in this video and your previous videos I've had the same treatments but for Hirschsprung's disease. I had a Stoma for 3 years and had many surgeries, most recently the 'pull-through' which removed my stoma. I had a large part of my bowel removed and the same with the 'megarectum' within the first few surgeries. I'm now 17 and stoma-free. Stay strong and keep doing what you're doing!

Hannah thankyou so much. I have been struggling a lot recently with the mental Side of a chronic illness and to see you speak so honestly is just such a gift. I have watched your channel for over a year now and love the content and your bubbly personality (something we share). I'm not usually a commenter lol but this just really came at a good time. You showed so much strength, and I hope you know that, even if you don't feel that strength inside your head atm. Thankyou again for this video and for sharing your stories x

I'm so sorry you had to go through this again. I'm trying to imagine what it would be like and my imagination failed. I had two major surgeries only a few months apart years ago, and though they were elective and not nearly as invasive as yours, they were still very stressful and physically and emotionally draining. Your videos about your experiences are brave and useful to many, and I hope they're cathartic for you.
